We are going to Disneyland in August and I am trying to figure out hotels, we narrowed down to Red Lion, Hampton Inn & Suites (Garden Grove) and Best Western Raffles. Need your help, can you give me feedback to help decide?

We go in August alot and I wish I could help but just do not like staying that far away. Best of luck.

You really want something within walking distance.

So what is closer and priced ok (under 130/night) and fits a family of 5 - I can't find anything, that is why we went out farther.

Just a recommendation for a hotel that is not on your list........the Hyatt Regency Orange County. We are from the UK and coming again at the end of July for a 22night stay there, this will be our 4th stay at this hotel and to be honest we wouldn't consider anywhere else (unless the Hyatt was full).
There is a free shuttle to and from the park every half hour which has always worked really well for us.
We LOVE the Hyatt, please feel free to PM me with any questions!

I'm not an expert on what fits a family of 5, since I usually just go alone or with one friend or my husband, but I will agree that you really want to stay within walking distance, even if you have to pay a little more than your projected budget. The convenience far outweighs the price increase, and if you can't find it for less than $130, I know most of the close Harbor places are at least less than $145. You will be so thankful you're not dealing with shuttles or buses and can just walk back whenever you feel like it.

When in August may help us find something for you or did I miss that. But unfortunately many of the closer places may be booked at this later of a date. Good luck

Try the Best Western Park Place Inn or The Tropicana Inn. They are right across the street from the entrance.

hotels.com is having a sale through TODAY. carousel inn was about 120 a night....

Did you look at Park Vue Inn? They have pretty reasonable rates, free parking and free breakfast AND it is literally right across the street!

I just did quick check and Desert Inn and Suites is fairly reasonable for your dates. Also, if you check getawaytoday.com, they have packages for the Tropicana and HoJo that look pretty good. HTHs :)

SonnyJane is correct. :thumbsup2

With a family of 5, in the dog days of Summer.....you need to select a motel within walking distance on Harbor Blvd. Period. No further away than Hojo's on one end & the Candy Cane Inn on the other. (because with your crew, you WILL need to take a mid day break).

This is not the resort in the swamp. No need to take a stinkin' bus. No need to drive & park. The best transportation at Walt's Park..... is your feet. :)

Pick one of the hotels mentioned in the posts above (or one of the dozen or so within a city block (or two) of the crosswalk. Hopefully someone who has a map of the Harbor motels can post it.

We have stayed many times at the Ramada Maingate (Saga) on Harbor Blvd. There are a couple of rooms clear to the back on the 1st and 2nd floor that have 3 queen beds in them. You might be able to call and book that room. They also have one of the nicest pools on Harbor. Good Luck.

I've stayed at Best Bestern Raffles earlier this year. The walk is do able but also look into the ART (Area Resort Transit) They are buses that just go from the hotels to the parks on a continuous loop. It's not that expensive and fairly easy to find your way around.
