Hi everyone, we are thinking of returning to DL on Thanksgiving day and that Friday. How busy is DL traditionally on those days? Wondering if it's packed, or dead.

I know if you look at other posts people claim its horrendous. We went last year and honestly it wasn't what we were preparing ourselves for. The worst was during the fireworks (because they are essentially corralling all those people) and that was the only time we had an issue with the crowds (some one was holding their wheelchair in front of them and was annoyed when we asked if they could move it so we could exit the park). Overall though with lines and people it wasnt that bad. Longest wait was an hour and a half for the new star tours.

I've read a lot on this topic. We'll be back Sat and Sun after Tgiving, from all I've read the parks are pretty busy thurs to Sat, Sun a bit better as the day wears on.

We're going to just take our chances, adjust our expectations to deal with the crowds, and enjoy the magic of Christmas in Disneyland. :)

We were in the parks the week of Thanksgiving last year and it was managable. Yes, lots of people, to be expected, however, we just returned from 4 days in the parks Oct 11-14 and honestly, the crowds were just as bad as Thanksgiving last year! So if that's the time that works for you, just be prepared, but don't be scared away.:goodvibes

Hehe, we probably bumped into each other. I was there the 11-14th as well. It was super packed, much worse than summer crowds for us.

We will be there Thanksgiving week too, Tuesday-Sunday. If it is as packed as this last trip (hope it isn't worse, wouldn't be able to move in some spots), we will manage with FPs (if return times are enforced that will change our touring patterns-but no worries) and midday rests. We will do a lot more looking at shops and shows and know that we have 5 days to see it all. It will be busy, but we wont be at work, we will be at DL!
