Trip cancellation or postponing

HI Gang...

I need some info and I'm hoping you all can help.

We are due to drive to Disney on Friday of next week and yesterday my husband seems to have ruptured a disk in his lower back, leading to horrific lumbar/sciatic pain. This morning he had to CRAWL down the stairs and into the lounge. He's done some exercises and we're trying to gently stretch the area, etc...etc...

My question is, what do we do about Disney? We are supposed to be going with my family, but given the way he is now, I'm thinking the trip will be miserable and I can't afford to rent him and ECV (that is not an expense we were expecting for this trip).

What are the Disney rules for postponing trips? I'd rather not cancel. I'd rather just postpone it to January or something.

As long as you have other dates they will move it but if the dates are more money you have to pay the difference. I did this but had to cancel the night before told them why got back two nights and was able to transfer one to my dec trip since it was a spectate rate. As Lon as it not the night before they can transfer the funds if not they will have to refund it to you. I hope he sees a good dr I have had surgery this hear in my lower back. And the disk is still bad so might have to have more surgery.

Disney is very good about this I did it before and never had a problem well one cm told be they would transfer the two nights had to call back to check the stays and found out they couldn't. Being the funds already went to the resort and they are he ones that have to refund the money because they couldn't transfer. I didn't mind by would liked he first cm to tell me so I save a call. But was great fully they helped it didn't bother me that much

I had a room only reservation so not sure how packages would work but still think Disney will help and allow it.
