Trip Cancellation Notice

I received an 10:30pm email from DVC titled Trip Cancellation Notice and it says my Jan stay at BLT has been canceled. I hoped that meant my BCV waitlist had come through, but I see no sign of having any reservation now. Is it normal for the waitlist reservation to take some time to show up or should I be worried I have nothing booked now?

Fingers crossed you are right. It has happened that way for other people, so sounds to be the most likely explanation.

When I've had waitlists replacing existing reservations, the existing reservation cancellation email always comes through first. You should be able to login to your DVC account and see the new reservation on your dashboard before receiving the email.
 
Yes, that's a normal lag to happen. You should see the wait list show up today.

Have you logged into the DVC site and looked at your Dashboard? When we've gotten the cancellation notice we don't get the email about the waitlist right away but it always shows up in the Dashboard right away.
 
There is most likely an overlap between cancellations of the old reservation and booking the new one.

Thanks all. The new reservation showed up at 5am on his morning, so we’re all set. I’ve just never seen this lag before. I’m not sure this particular cancellation email was what I’ve gotten in the past either, but I might be remembering wrong.
 
I don't blame you for getting so nervous. I had a similar thing happen a few months ago-I "chatted" to have a reservation that was in 3 segments all combined into one long stay. The CM mentioned that I'd get an Email for each segment, telling me it was cancelled, but then I'd get a new Email, with this one long stay. My first instinct was to say "Never mind-I don't want anything cancelled" and figure we'd just handle it when we arrived at the resort. They really had to promise me that nothing would actually get cancelled. But I was scared anyways. That word "cancelled" isn't what anyone wants to see.
 
My favourite is when they send the cancellation emails to my spouse, not to me. I’m the one who does all the bookings, waitlists, and I’m the lead guest but he will get the random emails instead of me. Gave him a real fright when our Aulani trip was “cancelled”.
 
LOL this just happened to me, and happens to be our first DVC trip too so I was worried. I did login to my dashboard and did see the updated RSVP for the room I had waitlisted so that was a sigh of relief. Finally got the 2nd email with the new RSVP details about an hour later.
