Trip Advisor........Top 25 Beaches

We've been to a few of these. My favorite so far is San Diego.

Wow, I've been to eight of them. Out of the ones I've been to, Honolulu has been my favorite. Doing a week at Wildwood Crest this summer! :cool1:

Having been to almost all of these beaches, the fact that they chose Nags Head over Hatteras or Ocracoke Beaches of the Hatteras National Seashore in the Outer Banks is pretty revealing about the people making the choices. They just took the easy way out. There are many beaches on their list of top 25 I can give a big MEH over. If you want a good beach rating, try Dr. Beach.

I like MB, but I would not put it #1 wonder what the criteria is for ranking.

That's basically what I was thinking, does anyone else think Myrtle Beach SC was a very odd choice to say the least for #1? There are a whole host of Florida beaches I would pick over that? And PCB is not even the best beach in the panhandle IMO, I would take Destin, Perdido Key, or even Pensacola over PCB. PCB for the best party beach maybe, but everytime I've been, like 4 or 5 times, its always been very sea weedy. :confused3 Not sure why, maybe bad timing.

And where was West Palm and all of that area? Miami Beach is a little vague, what about South Beach?

Would also put Siesta Key (#10) well about MB.

Not sure how they came up with this list...don't know how Panama City Beach (tacky, tacky tacky imho) made the list and not Destin or the Beaches of South Walton (Seaside/Grayton Beach).

I live on Sanibel, and will give the beaches here a thumbs up. The curious thing is that the most popular beach seems to have become the beaches on the causeway over to the island. People flock there, setting up tents, and spending a day of it. Not sure why, other than it is free parking while the other sights charge for leaving a car.

I would have picked Sanibel, Siesta, Captiva & even Clearwater over Myrtle Beach any day.

I have to agree about Panama City Beach----S.Walton Beaches are soooo much nicer

Wasn't Siesta Key Beach rated the top beach by the Travel Channel?

I agree about how some made the list :confused3
Also like dr beach
He always rates our favorite Cape Cod beach very high ( Coast Guard beach)

Even though I live in NJ I love Cape Cod but the water is freezing even in late summer.

I've been to three-- so sure how Provincetown made it on there. Freeezing! We like it for the wildlife (whale watching), but not for swimming or lounging!

Myrtle Beach #1??????? I can't imagine what the person making the list was thinking.

I live an hour away from 2 of them. We treat the summer like it's a continual vacation. I LOVE the beach!!!

I'm not familiar with the places list that's not in California, but come on, saying San Diego is too general.

Where in SD, exactly? There are so many beaches there, how is anyone not from here to know what they mean?
