Hi - I'm trying to get away for a birthday trip and wondering if I go Aug 29-Sept 2 if I'll miss the crowds for Labor Day? Can anyone give me an idea? Thanks in advance. Ely

Well, it seems the kids go back to school earlier each year. You could get lucky with lower crowds, not the lowest. But the week before major holidays seems to give the parks a bit of a break.

Webray - how has the weather been around that time? I figure hot, hot, hot
but what about hurricanes? And if it's super hot during the day - what temp does it get down to at night for doing the parks at night? Thanks! Ely

I'm not Webray, but hurricane season is technically June 1-Nov 30, so the threat is always there. Hurricane Charlie hit the area on August 13 last year. I would not let that deter me, but just keep it in mind.

Thunderstorms are pretty much a daily thing that time of year. They usually roll by quickly, but don't necessarily cool things off. The evenings are humid, so dress accordingly. The air can be exceptionally sticky.

The crowds are thinner because of school reopenings. Labor Day is probably the least crowded summer holiday.....this year it will possibly be more crowded than traditionally because of the anniversary.
