Trilegiant Complete Homes Strange PC Received

I did the offer for Trilegiant Complete Homes back in October 2006. My CC was charged as soon as I did the offer. I cancelled that offer because it just wasn't for me..........or so I thought. A few days later I found my CC was charged 2X more for 2 other services that I didn't KNOW I had signed up for along with CH. Once I saw those charges on my CC, I cancelled those as well. The people I spoke to in CS were very nice and helpful and checked to make sure I wasn't signed up for any other offers.

I was credited in my rewards account on 11-16-06.

TODAY I received a post card in the mail.........supposedly from CH saying that I never received all of my membership materials and they are on their way and should arrive shortly. WHAT???? :confused3

1. The number to call and the email address they listed were not the ones in my records or at the website online.

2. The return address was TN.....the headquarters is in CT.

3. I called the customer service number I found online and discovered the following:
a. My account was cancelled back in October
b. The CS rep has been with the company for several years and he never heard of the pc I received (I read it to him)
c. The CS didn't have the phone number or email address listed on the pc in his records of contact info for the company.
d. The member number on the front of the pc above my name IS/WAS the number associated with my account.
e. He did say that sometimes after an account has been cancelled for 6 months the company will send out a pc asking if the member wants to rejoin. This pc did not ask me to rejoin....as a matter of fact...it told me if I wanted to cancel...to call the 877 number listed.

He told me to ignore it. Like heck!!! I'm going to be watching my CC like a hawk.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up to be on the lookput. Usually I throw junk like this away. Very, very strange.
 
VERY WEIRD!! If I were you I would cancel the credit card in a heart beat to take care of that issue.

It is amazing that these companies do this...and they are raising a stink because we want to use prepaid cards to cover our butts!!

I don't care what anyone says, but I will only do offers that I can use a prepaid or a virtual number, I am not going through all that! NO WAY!

You know...I thought about doing that......but I decided not to. My bank (where the CC is) is very good about fraud issues. Anytime I have had a problem (I think 2X in 20 years) they have been right on top of it.

I check my account every day anyway....now I'll just check it several times a day.

It is strange that the companies are the ones crying fraud......and then stuff like this happens.....no wonder people are leery about doing offers.
 
You are lucky that your bank will take care of it. My bank makes you fill out a mountain of paperwork, so it just isn't worth it! Just keep watching!

The whole fraud thing is a joke, you almost feel like they want to set it up so they can commit fraud on us...at least that is how I am feeling!
