Trigger is up for auction!!!

I wonder why they closed the museum  You hear of fundraisers all the time to keep places open, it is a shame something was not done to keep this museum open, Roy Rodgers and his horse Trigger was a true Cowboy Icon for so many, includeing myself when growing up :sad1::

It's so sad to see this happen. I guess the young generation just doesn't know who they are.

I read a slightly more extensive article on this last week.

The auction is a last resort. Apparently the museum offered Trigger, another horse and the dog to numerous museums.

Every single one turned them down saying that in this economy they had no money to set up a new exhibit.

I am surprised the Smithsonian did not snap up Trigger as the horse is a cultural icon.
