Tried to add an extra day... :(

We're booked for 6 nights and 5 days at POR (getting there this Friday!). We got to thinking how we'd like to stay just one more day so I called to see if we could add one more day. No luck - they're completely booked.

I agree with the Nick hotel- they might be booked aswell b/c they just opened. How about POFQ? I would assume then CSR is gone too... Did you try the resorts in DTD?

I would keep trying, even once you arrive. I would ask every day. They have people cancel all the time. Good Luck!!

Ask again while you're there. They could have a cancellation... we often went a day early and tacked on an extra day at the beginning by checking for cancellations.

DH was willing to add the extra day only if it could be at POR. He doesn't want to have to pack and move for just a night. We got a code rate for POR ($79 a night) so that's also why we're wanting to be there. Maybe I'll try again on Tuesday with the hopes of someone having made a cancellation. (crossing fingers).

Check with Guest Services at POR every day -- maybe even twice a day. When we wanted to stay on through the Memorial Weekend (when EVERYTHING was completely booked), we found this to much faster than calling and going through the questions each time. While we didn't luck into cancellations at AKL, we did get a great room at CSR. It was fun trying a new hotel.

Hi we will also be at POR during the time you are there, we fly out from the UK on Wednesday and are at POR for 13 nights before we move onto the Polynesian Resort.

I also would suggest you keep calling every day until your arrival date and even then check with front desk every day, you just never know.

I am intrigued to know what code rate you used for that rate, I am really jealous as we have paid $109 + tax per night for a standard room using AP rate which came out in March, was this a postcard offer?

We are arriving at CSR on the 24th, I've been trying 3 times a day to add on the 23rd w/ no such luck either, although the CM's keep telling me not to give up that things open up all the time. Good luck to you. (and me too )

Hi! This could ammount to nothing, but I wanted to share my recent experience with adding a room...

We found out our flights weren't working out and we needed to add one additional night to our stay at POFQ. I called and was told there was no room, then the CM went on to say that judging by his computer the ENTIRE WDW was booked. I politely asked if this was likely and for him to check again. Said the same thing. So, I tried calling again and the new nice CM said the same thing!!! So, she picked up on the fact that having every single WDW room booked was unusual, so she looked into it. The computer was trying to book my ENTIRE STAY, not the one night!!! She worked it out and I was able to keep my room and...this will be good for you, KEEP MY RATE!

So, this is possibly happening to you, might be worth a try to check! Good luck to you!

Thanks everyone. I will definately keep trying. The CM I talked to today suggested the same thing.

dizagain - thanks for your input about how they might be looking at trying to rebook us for an entire 7 night stay instead of just adding one on.

julie.uk - We lucked out on that rate by ending up with one of the "mystery codes" that just happened to be attached to our name in the Disney computer system. We have never gotten an e-mail or post card offering us a special code. I just decided I'd just give it a shot at calling and asking if we had a code by our name. The CM went into the main database and sure enough, we had a code! I would have NEVER know if I had not called and asked!

I also tried to add an additional night at the beginning of our stay at POR (July 1) but was unable to. I've called many times I'm over it now but it bummed me out before. I also got the magic rate but I did get the postcard - except I THREW IT OUT!! Not knowing what I had - thought it was something they mail everyone LOL and didn't think we had a chance of going this year. Thank God that they were able to pull it up on the computer when I called and told the wonderful CM my plight Anyway have a great trip!

Last trip we wanted to add a day. We where told not openings. When we checked in I asked for the extra day. Had no problem getting it. Ask when you get there. We went at Easter. Have a great trip!

Well, the extra day is out - our hot water heater decided to break and start flooding the laundry room on Monday. So, $500 later, there went our extra day (it's always something...!).
