Tried a couple sites to book HH

for the first week of April. Not DVC owners and have never rented points so I figured this may be the easiest route for us on shorter notice (than trying to learn what we need to do to rent.)

Anyhow back to my point... No two bedrooms avail on any site. I realize they have limited blocks, but is the first week of April really that busy? I had thought it was still early for people to be heading to HH, plus not being a vacation week. We were looking to go like the 4th through 10th (maybe being Easter weekend more people are travelling?)

Anyhow just a curiousity, is April a busy time on HH? While i'm at it what about Vero, is it busy there the first week of April? TIA

I think you're running into a combination of Easter and Spring Break. That always adds to the crowds.

Maybe... I thought we'd be ok since our vacation week (MA) is the week of the 19th. It doesn't directly follow Easter this year. Guess maybe other areas do! Thanks..

Many of the school systems in the Atlanta metro area are off that week (we are!)

HH is a very popular destination for family trips during the March/April Spring Break period- without regard to the specific dates for Easter. This is true for the entire island and not just the Disney resort.

Many college tennis teams go there for their break and play challenge matches on the local courts. (There is even a clearinghouse for those teams to arrange the matches.)

The beaches are very active with families during this time and restaurants and stores enjoy the increased business after the winter months.

It's a very vibrant location during those months. May will slow a little in preparation for the extremely busy summer season.

There is also a major golf tournament in Hilton Head in April. Not sure of the exact dates, but between Spring Break, Easter, and the golf tournament, it CAN be tough to get a room sometimes!
