Tricky Transportation/parking question - Animal Kingdom

We are driving (staying off-site) and planning to start our day at Animal Kingdom on a Saturday and then hop to Magic Kingdom. Should we park at Magic Kingdom and take the bus from there? My thinking is that by the time we leave MK, AK will be closed and I'm not sure if transportation runs to AK after it closes?

Done the same day. I drive to AK, hop in my car and drive to MK. I don't want to lose the time in the morning and you are right about getting back to AK after it closes.

Agreed with above. To get from MK to AK, you would have to go over to the contemporary, and then take a bus from there to AK. Of course, it can be done, but it adds an extra layer of getting from MK parking lot (TTC) over to MK by ferry, or monorail, then from there to Contemporary either by walking, or another monorail, then bus to AK. Seems like more work than it is worth.

Drive to both parks -- much faster! This is coming from a WDW vet. If you're paying to park, keep your receipt and show it at the second lot. There will be only one parking fee for the entire day, no matter how many times you change lots.

Since MK expanded their bus station last year to include a third loop, the MK buses to/from AK and HS now depart from the MK bus station. (Previously you would get the MK-to-AK bus and MK-to-HS bus at the TTC, or from the Contemporary. The new arrangement is much better.)

There's now direct bus service between MK and AK,you used to have to go to the TTC or the monorail resorts but now the buses are direct.But as others said if you're starting the day at AK it's just going to be easier to drive.
