Tricks, Treats, Toddler, Food & Wine. An October 2011 Pre-Trip Report.

i found your PTR too! i am subscribed now. :goodvibes Caden is going to have a blast- do you have anything special planned for him when there?

I have 3 Character meals planned, a meal at T-Rex, time in the LEGO store and of course time in all 4 parks. I have started picking up a few Disney items here and there as I see them around town. I have a big Toy Story bucket already that I am going to fill with goodies and put in the room for him. It will have an autograph book, Mickey sunglasses, a Disney water bottle and some other goodies for him to use on the trip! :)

That's super frustrating about the AA stuff!

As for the Pirates and Pals cruise, I really enjoyed it!pirate:

awesome- he will love it. Will enjoyed the LEGO store too and the playground outside. in fact, i usually tell DH to take him over there, while i get quality ALONE shopping time. :rotfl: We usually get Will a goodie bag too- usually one to open on the plane with maybe a new game for his DS, coloring books etc. - stuff to keep him busy on the flight. Then usually a surprise in the room too. This time, i might do a surprise every morning for him and say Mickey left it for him. ;)

yeah- i have only heard good things about the cruise, it is pricey, but i think will be worth it. He is just totally into Capt Hook right now (and Smee). The whole time we had his nursery done in Peter Pan with a hook mural on the wall and he never cared.......now he goes into his old nursery (it is an extra guest room now) and says, hey, what is Capt Hook doing there? lol :confused3:rotfl:

Hi Michelle, just joining in. So exciting to find people traveling with the exact same dates. I'm with you on waiting a little while and seeing what the economy does to airfare. It's a little pricey at the moment. Gotta go back and read now. Will have to check your December TR too. Planning a future December trip and need all the info I can get.

Your plans look great so far! I'm not even attempting that until the hours are released because I don't want to have to re-do our schedule a million times like we did in December. It will be a little easier this time though since it is just us, we don't have to accommodate anyone else and what they want to do. I'm sure you feel the same way!

What a bummer about the flights. :sad2: So expensive! We usually fly SW too because it's the only airline with a direct flight from New Orleans to Orlando. Did you try checking to see if you could save any money booking through a travel site like orbitz or priceline? Or even cheapflights.com? My friend had told me about that one when we were looking for affordable airfare to get to Washington D.C. Getting in early and not having a room to go to until 4 pm does sound rough! Hope you can get something worked out to save you some $$.

This will be our first FAMILY ONLY trip together, just the three of us. All past trips have been with extended family and often large groups of us! In Dec 2009, we had 14 family members go! So we are looking forward to a 'just us' trip, so we can do what we want, when we want and not have to wait on anyone else. :confused3;)

Hooray for small family trips! I would love to convince my extended family to go at that same time but I don't think I could handle the stress since I would be the one stuck with all the planning. Plus, I have enough trouble trying to get my family to rope drop. The closest we ever got was Star Wars weekend. We walked up before rope drop but too late to actually see anything that might have been going on. Although the storm troopers standing on all the tickets booths and such was pretty cool to see.

Another little note on our trip.......I am hoping to be pregnant!

Good luck!

Teppan Edo for lunch or dinner (first time for all of us!)

I really want to try eating here but we just have too many places on our wish list. I love sushi but only get it a couple of times a year when I go out with a friend. My family won't touch it.

have you done Cocoa beach and would you recommend spending some time there? We are thinking about like 3-4 hours- not a whole day.

We went to Cocoa Beach for a day on our Honeymoon. We loved it and actually ended up selling our WDW tickets to one of those stands that used to buy them and use them as rewards at their sales presentations for time shares. Then we ended up getting so sunburned we didn't leave our hotel room for the rest of the trip. The main thing I remembered is the restaurant we ate at near the beach smelled like a nursing home. Meaning it smelled like fish and not in a good way. Sorry, I know that's gross but in the interest of full disclosure. :rotfl: We personally wouldn't do it again and plan on the kids seeing the ocean for the first time when we take a Disney Cruise in 2013.

Well it's a possibility. My family only October trip might also turn into a college program roommate reunion trip too. I know, sort of ruins my whole plan for the three of us only, but the good news is, these are folks that know the parks and i don't feel pressure to show them around, do it all etc. It is more about hanging out with them, having a good time. We would probably meet up just for the first weekend for some meals, food and wine or a dinner or something. I wouldn't be with them all the time.

last fall, we started all messaging each other on facebook about planning another reunion.

That sounds like a lot of fun! Especially if it's only a couple of dinners or evenings. If others bring their kids though Will could have a blast. Don't you just love facebook!?!?

I also found this great halloween shirt - on clearance for $5 at Walmart! DIS lime green no less. It is an XL, but appears to be a fitted shirt and a cheap one, so I know it will shrink to where it fits me!
ry%3D400

I really like that shirt. I won't shop at Walmart though. Too many bad customer service experiences. Plus I work at Target! ;)

Meal at CRT-
while this wasn’t on my radar at all before, I think we are adding this to our list. Will has watched Cinderella a number of times now. It all started with a nightingale photo in a book of his. It was a Disney ABC book of animals, for each letter, there was a Disney related (in most cases) animal starting with that letter. For N, was nightingale. He says night-night gale. So cute. So I started singing him the song from Cinderella- sing sweet nightingale. He loved it. So I had him watch the movie to hear it and he had me rewind it over and over on that song. Too sweet. So he likes Cinderella. I figure now is our chance, while he is young to really enjoy the princesses, before he is too big and wants nothing to do with them. So we will attempt breakfast there and if we can’t get breakfast, we will take lunch or dinner. I know this ressie is hard to come by, so let’s cross our fingers! I’ve done both breakfast and dinner here before. While the food wasn’t anything to write home about, the characters are always great and it is so fun to eat in the castle. I think Will is going to get a kick out of being in the castle too.

I think that's awesome and Will is going to love it!

Food and Wine festival-
This will be our first time doing it. Our strategy is to avoid doing it on the weekend or evenings.

Your Food and Wine plan sounds about like mine. It's also my first time. I didn't even realize it was happening when I first started planning. So looking forward to using lots of DxDP snack credits there.

Everytime i have miles or a free flight I win in a raffle, I can't ever use it. I guess I will save it for something else. total bummer.

I always think of that when the airlines start announcing at the airport that anyone willing to hold off until the next flight will get a voucher. I want to ask the people walking up if they think they'll have any problem using those vouchers. :rolleyes1

So I'm all caught up. Lovely to have found a few fellow time travelers. Hope you don't mind if I stalk you. :rotfl: Seriously though, if I'm looking to book O'hana and planning the same night... why the heck not? Don't be scared, we don't bite. :teeth:

I'm getting caught up on updates!!

I love the plans so far!

I've been checking for flights for May, June, and July and they are nuts!!! $300+ for all 3 months! It could be because I'm checking on Sat and Sun and typically flights will drop a little if you look at them during the week (which has been proven correct for our past trip!) I'm going to wait until Tues or Wed and then look again to see if they've dropped. We figured if we can't find anything that suits us and a good price, then we'll drive. It's about 15 hrs (2 days) and my aunt lives in ATL so it's a 1/2 way point for us anyways + it's free! I don't think that's an option for you though!!!!

Give it time I guess, you're still sadly several months away! When we booked our March trip in Jan, we got flights for $245, $145 because I used some Delta points. I wouldn't get up hope yet!

Hello! Found your trip report on the October thread. Love your plans so far! Bummer about the AA vouchers. Looking forward to reading more. We will be there the week before you enjoying MNSSHP and Food and Wine Festival with our toddler too!

I SO feel your pain with booking your airfare!:sad1:
It drove me nuts for weeks before I booked - and even now afterwards.....
Last year we booked our package incl. airfare through Disney and got an amazing rate of $179 per person non-stop. This year we topped out at $320 per person with one-stop - and there is 5 of us!:sad2:

You mentioned that taking an earlier flight would save some money. I know many people dislike such early flights but my family LOVES them! We wake up at 3am, wake the kids at about 3:30am by blasting Disney tunes outside their bedroom doors, and we're off! After all, we're too excited to sleep!

Our flights home are always the last available flight too. We just want to squeeze every last moment into our Disney vacation!

It's a little pricey at the moment. Gotta go back and read now. Will have to check your December TR too. Planning a future December trip and need all the info I can get.
yeah! yes, still holding out on airfare, i've found airtran to be a bit cheaper, but we would have to connect and get in much later. plus the trip back, there is a direct, but it is like 8pm, which means we are at the parks for a long time, which sounds great, but with a toddler that usually naps, we would be 'homeless' for too long i think. We will see. Yes, check out the Dec TR!:santa::thumbsup2

Your plans look great so far! I'm not even attempting that until the hours are released because I don't want to have to re-do our schedule a million times like we did in December. It will be a little easier this time though since it is just us, we don't have to accommodate anyone else and what they want to do. i know, isn't it a great feeling to just plan for YOU and only you? i love it. While i love sharing the magic with family and friends, I am really looking forward to it being just us. I so wish SW had direct flights from DFW to Orlando, but no go. Yeah, i've tried the usual expedia etc. and even bestfares.com and will keep checking. I've seen something on airtran that is better, but has a connection going down. We will see. Still holding out, but it is driving me crazy, i usually have my flights booked before 6 months out!

Planning for a large group is tough, but we made it work. fortunately we didn't try to be together all the time, but almost always for meals. it was rough, but it was still fun. but so looking forward to having the flexibility to do what we want, when we want. Feel like sleeping in and missing our planned RD? we can do it! We do enjoy RD and all the ceremony, but we are perfectly content if we even make it in the park just after RD, if you arrive right at opening at the gate, you might miss the show, but you still get in to beat the crowds.
I really want to try eating here but we just have too many places on our wish list. I love sushi but only get it a couple of times a year when I go out with a friend. My family won't touch it.
I don't eat Sushi either. or seafood in general. :rotfl:i am the picky one. however, i do eat hibachi- i am doing the chicken/steak combo!

We went to Cocoa Beach for a day on our Honeymoon. we really have to fit in the beach sometime. looks like it won't happen this trip now as i might meet up some old roomies instead that first day. we will see. lol at the nursing home smell! :rotfl: i am really hoping to do a cruise in the next year or two again, hopefully on the DREAM. i've done DCL once - but with my parents and cousin. DH and Will haven't been yet, they would love it.

I really like that shirt. I won't shop at Walmart though. Too many bad customer service experiences. Plus I work at Target! ;)
i know a lot of people that don't /refuse to shop there. you work at Target- oh my, i would spend way too much if i had a discount. it is bad enough as it is!:rotfl:;)

I always think of that when the airlines start announcing at the airport that anyone willing to hold off until the next flight will get a voucher. I want to ask the people walking up if they think they'll have any problem using those vouchers. :rolleyes1
that's a good question, i don't know......mine were a gift i won at an auction and there are blackout dates for it. i've never even thought of taking the vouchers, but i guess it is a good question if you do! AA is just really bad about restrictions. they make it really hard to use your miles or vouchers.

So I'm all caught up. Lovely to have found a few fellow time travelers. Hope you don't mind if I stalk you. :rotfl: Seriously though, if I'm looking to book O'hana and planning the same night... why the heck not? Don't be scared, we don't bite. :teeth:
hey- might as well, right? ;) not stalkerish at all! we will definitely have to plan a meet! oh but don't count on my plans as posted now, i think they will change- i'll post updates later today!:lmao::thumbsup2

I'm getting caught up on updates!!

I know, it is crazy! i would love to fly out on a thursday or something, as i know rates are lower, but DH just won't miss another day of work. We actually did that on a prior Dec trip- we flew out Thursday night after work and it was great. DH did mention driving briefly, but i just don't want to do that. We are already doing a road trip with the family to the Smokey Mountains in June. That isn't quite as far though. yeah, i am waiting out a little longer and see. But it drives me nuts, i want to have something concrete!

Hello! Found your trip report on the October thread. Love your plans so far! Bummer about the AA vouchers. Looking forward to reading more. We will be there the week before you enjoying MNSSHP and Food and Wine Festival with our toddler too!
WELCOME!!! :goodvibesthanks for joining in! yeah, total bummer. not sure when i will be able to use them. I actually had a coworker try and buy one from me months ago to use to visit a dying relative, but once again, it was blacked out and she couldn't. i might see if i can use one to fly DH out to Vegas in august - i have a conference there and figured i would fly him out to join me for a few days after working. yeah on being there the week before me- you can get everything warmed up- right? ;)

I SO feel your pain with booking your airfare!:sad1:

$179 is awesome. $330 is what we paid in December. What airline are you on and out of where? i actually LIKE the early flights too. DH, not so much. Plus, it would mean him taking another day off work. The plan was to have him work at least a half or 3/4 day on Friday and then leave that afternoon. My ideal flight is one on AA that leaves at 5pm and arrives at 8:30pm. They do have a 7am flight too, and it is $100 cheaper. That is the one we took in december and they ended up changing the flight- to almost an hour earlier! ouch! We were up at like 3:30am that day, which he hated. then we couldn't get into our room until right at 4pm. so all of us were tired, grouchy and ready to be in our room. it wasn't a happy day. :lmao::rotfl2: So he said no more early flights like that ever again. BOO!!! We will see- i might convince him otherwise, if the options keep being so expensive! but like you, i want to get there as early as I can and stay as late as possible!

Hi Michelle...

forgot to mention on the Oct thread...but I love the pix of your son in his halloween costumes from past yrs and the possible Peter pan for this yr...so cute :goodvibes

thank you for the article link about the possible FP character meet and greet...this will be a wonderful blessing for families like ours who love the characters but how difficult it is to stand in line for our autistic son :goodvibes

sorry about your flight woes too...

Well you knew it was going to happen. Don’t say I didn’t warn you! I’ve made changes. In fact, quite a few. Hours were released and I was thrown for a loop, or two or three. Yep, totally thrown off my game. The EMH hours were not at all what I had anticipated.

So I feverishly spent hours (at work no less, lol) reworking my schedule. Three times. Yep, three times. Of course touingplans.com changed too, so I had to go back and look at it as well.

A little about us and how we tour. DH is an early riser (and can stay up late too). I, on the other hand, am ONLY an early riser when in WDW. I can wake up at the crack of dawn for anything Disney. We really love being there for RD or at least right at opening to beat the crowds. Will is typically an early riser too (aren’t most young kids!?). So early mornings work for us and we don’t want to waste it sleeping in. We might sleep in our last day, but that’s it. Sleeping in for us might be 8:30 or 9 at the latest. I wish we could sleep longer, but William never sleeps past 8:30 at home, even when staying up late.

We will eat breakfast in the room, unless we have an ADR. We will take a midday break every day, except our AK day. We will usually plan on a 2 hour break in the room for a nap for Will or even a swim. We usually will try and break by 2pm or so. We then head back out and enjoy the parks at night and try and go until closing, which isn’t hard based on these short hours! We will avoid evening EMHs in general and plan to do at least MK and Epcot EMH in the am. Mornings are easier for us.

I know, I am demanding. Aggressive. OCD. Crazy. Yes, crazy! I am asking for a lot. Who knew such a recipe was critical in planning? A little am EMH here, a little BB there, a little F&W there. It should all come out to a perfect trip, right?

I do typically put some tentative times on my schedule, it helps me know what time we need to plan on waking up and what time we need to plan on taking our break each day. With so many activities and ADRs planned, i find we work better if we have a time established. We don't stick to these and by no means exactly, but it is just a guide for us to go from and shoot for. We've been known to completely ditch the plan for the day and do something else, so we are flexible, but like having a plan in place to go from if we want it. :confused3:rotfl:

So the last things I need to do are:

 • Figure out what day to do the Pirates League- I want to do in the morning, so he can be dressed up all day- which day works better, do you think- 10/16 or 10/20? We are at MK both those mornings. On 10/20, it is EMH and we have no meal scheduled, so I think we have more time that morning?

 • Back up ADRs- in case I can’t get CRT and Ohana on the nights I want, I want to have a backup plan (maybe switching them etc.). Gotta figure that out. ADR date is Sunday, April 17th---I’ll be online at 4:45am to log in and be ready to go at 5am my time (6am EST!)

The other update we have is on flights.........

No luck there unfortunately. I searched again online today- checked expedia, travelocity, bestfares, AA, SW etc.

DH is picky about the time we leave, so that plays a part in all of this. He doesn't mind going on Friday (we added Friday night already at BLT), but he wants to be able to work almost a full day Friday. I had originally found a 5pm flight on AA that put us in at 8:30pm. He was okay with that. Since he worked like 5 minutes from DFW airport, he could work until 3pm or so that day if we did that flight. Unfortunately that flight was coming up at $360 a person. Now it is almost $400 a person!

I also checked SW, now SW from Dallas (Love Field) does NOT fly direct. So we would have to connect, which I hate. (AA flies direct). So I checked anyhow hoping it would be cheaper, but nope, even with connections both way, it is MORE than AA! really? :confused3:confused:

So I did find AIRTRAN. Not our favorite airline and haven't flown them in ages. I typically fly American, since they are so big here in Dallas and I fly them for business too. But AIRTRAN wasn't too bad.

I found two options that would work for us- both about $268 RT per person. Their checked bag fee for 1st bag is $20 (AA is $25). So I've pitched the idea of this first flight to DH, let's see what he says. It would mean he would only get to work for a few hours that day (if he went in at all, but knowing him, he would go in even for a few hours). What's funny is that he works for a small REIT and was employee #3. they don't have an official vacation policy or enforce anything strict unless you are abusing it. So it's not like he only has a few days of vacation and is trying to save it. He just is a workaholic sometimes. :rotfl::confused3 Me, on the other hand, do work for a large corp, and have limited vacation, so having to take another day is a big hit for me, but doable.

So here is the first flight:
Friday, 10/14
12:21pm- depart DFW, 3:15pm- arrive Atlanta
4:30pm- depart Atlanta, 6pm- arrive Orlando!
Saturday, 10/22
8pm- depart Orlando, 9:47pm- arrive Dallas
(late arrival is fine, we have all day sunday to recuperate!)

concerns here are the connection- at least this one has an hour and 15 minutes, so we have a little cushion if running late. So a little concerned, but not too bad. Luckily William is pretty laid back, so while a connection is not my preference with a toddler, i think he will do okay. We just need to minimize how much junk we carry on. On the return flight, it is LATE. while i am all for spending every last second we can in the parks, i just fear we will be 'homeless' for too long. i.e. we have to check out by 11am, then we have no where for Will to take a nap that day etc. Not that he needs a nap necessarily.

But on our December trip, on our last day (with a 6pm flight), we checked out, did Chef Mickey's at 10am and then headed to Epcot. It was PACKED. We were so over it by then due to the crowds and knowing we only had a few hours. So that day was almost wasted to us other than breakfast. By the time we got in the car for the airport at 3:30, William fell dead asleep in the car. lol. he was so tired. With an 8pm flight, we would probably depart the area about 5 or 5:30 at the latest. So we would have 6 plus hours being homeless. I think it is doable, he can sleep in his stroller if he gets too tired. We can always relax in the lounge area of the hotel (comfy chairs and couches up stairs at CR) if it came to that. anyone else taken such a late flight out with young kids- how did they do that last day? The good news, is we would have up until 5pm to enjoy a park!

The second option is a much later flight, i just fear it puts us in way too late. We want to do DHS EMH the next am and getting in so late won't work for that! I didn't even show this to DH yet, hoping he will just consider the earlier one instead!!

Friday, 10/14
5:16pm- depart DFW, 8:20pm, arrive Atlanta
9pm- depart Atlanta, 10:29pm, arrive Orlando

return flight would be the same.

So any thoughts or ideas for cheaper flights? I am so anxious to book. I usually have our flights booked way earlier than this. It is driving me nuts. I don't feel like it is real and that I can finalize our plan until the flight is booked!

Hey Michelle!

I was thinking about you the other day when I heard they released October hours. I knew you'd be trying to organize your itinerary! :cool1: I think it looks good! I love all the times mapped out. I'm like you, even if you don't follow them exactly it still gives you a nice guide. :thumbsup2 I hope you get all your ADRs too!

Booking flights is so stressful! I agree going direct is definitely the best way, but I completely understand making a connection if it's cheaper. I hope the flight prices go down and you get something that works for you guys. You'll have to keep us updated on what you decide.

Your schedule is looking good. :woohoo: We are hoping for an O'hana ADR for the same night...but a few hours later! You get to make your ADR's 1 day earlier than me. I hope you get your O'hana ressie and us too! :goodvibes We are also planning to do EPCOT for Food & Wine on Friday! I guess great minds think alike. :)

As for your flights. I say do whatever you have to to twist your husbands arm to take the earlier flight on Friday. That 2nd option is VERY late, especially to try to get up for RD the next morning! Can't wait to hear more about your plans! :cool1:

Wow!! Sorry about the crazy planning changes :( We have been looking at flights for June and like I said before they are NUTS!! I did remind my mom that in the past when we've gone in the summer for week long trips (before I became a CM in 2008), we would plan at least a year in advance and would book flights as soon as they were posted but with short notice trips + summer..I think we might end up driving. The best we are seeing is $275 which is crazy and not good hours that we want. We fly Delta a ton bc it's the biggest airline in Cincinnati. My mom, dad and I all have the Delta CC so we get 1st free checked bag which is $25 so RT it saves $50 each!

Your schedule is looking good. Just finished mine. Not set in stone of course but I have a starting plan that I'm proud of. Gotta type it up and post it so I can get lots of feedback. :rotfl:

You and Stephanie are both hoping for O'hana. We are planning the Spirit of Aloha Dinner. I'm wondering if it will be worth it or if we should just eat at O'hana. The skewers look better at O'hana but I would like to see the show. However it is 2 credits. Decisions, decisions!

I understand your reservations about the long day without a hotel room. Maybe make sure you have a quiet sit down dinner so Will can recharge? My concern with our returning flight is that it has to happen at all. Can't I just live at AKL?:goodvibes

yeah, we still haven't booked a flight- i need to get DH to just committ to something then i would feel a lot better. lol!

let's cross our fingers then that we both get our O'hana!!!! lol- i like how you think----some arm twisting is definitely in order here. :rotfl:;) or some bribing! whatever works. yeah, i agree, the second option is way late, we would be exhausted!

I saw in your PTR how you were seeing high prices too and thinking about driving. how long is the drive for you guys? yeah, i just can't get over how extremely high the prices are.

can't wait to see your schedule!! I haven't ever had any real interest in doing the aloha dinner and to be honest, i can't tell you why. i just don't care about doing it. I've been to Oahu once and even then we didn't do a luau. now HDD, i love. i haven't heard bad things about the luau or anything like that, it just isn't something we care about doing and i know we love the food at O'hana! it's a tough decision!!!

lol- wouldn't it be nice if we could just stay there indefinitely? i wish!!!! yeah, i worry about a long day, but we will have our stroller and he can always pass out in there. if we get tired- DH and I, we can always just find a quite place at one of the resort lounges to sit or just people watch on a bench or cafe in the MK or something. that is actually a lot of fun and i need to make time to do more relaxing and just enjoying the atmosphere anyhow. plus, it isn't like we haev to go back to work the next day- we will have all day sunday to rest up.

Well no real updates to report. It's just been super crazy busy at work lately, which is when i actually do a lot of my DIS'ing. I know, it sounds silly, that i get on the DIS more at work than at home, but i do. I often eat lunch at my desk and DIS then. At home, i have to rush to get dinner made, feed Will, clean up, get him a bath, get him to bed etc- it leaves little time to get on the computer and play. As a working mom, what little time i have with him, i want to take!!!

So work has just been extremely busy, not allowing me my normal DIS time! :rotfl::confused3:rotfl: don't they know i need it? Lots of stress and pressure lately at work for all of us- my whole department. but being busy is good- the week flew by and at least it is job security, right!?? :confused3:lmao: That's what I tell myself anyhow.

So no news on trip planning really, well a little, but not this trip- another one. Yep, i know, the horror! i have another trip/vacation planned prior to WDW. My WDW trips always overshadow whatever else I have planned, but this trip is coming up soon. We are heading to the Smokey Mountains with my entire family for a week in June. Leaving June 11th for the week and driving. I already rented a 15 passenger van for us. Plus we are taking mom's mini van (tricked out wtih everything you could want). Mom, DAd, my sis Mandy, her hubby and 4mo baby will ride in the big van with us 3. Then my other sis, her hubby and two kids (4 and 7) will take the mini van- this way we have room for all our crap and bags too. We are going to stay in Nashville on that saturday night, then drive the rest of the way in to our cabin, near Pigeon Forge.

It has 4 bedrooms, so each of our families gets their own space. We have plans to do Dollywood, shop, visit the caverns, the waterfalls, maybe tube or raft etc. Just take in nature and relax/enjoy. no going commando here! so looking forward to a relaxing type vacation! Surprisingly, my family does enjoy vacationing together. We are all very close. We did the same thing with a beach house in Port Aransas (south tx) a few years ago and had a blast. We like to play games, cards, enjoy some adult beverages etc. We have a good time laughing together. so should be fun- plus William loves his cousins- Michael is just a year older than him and Ally is a few years older, they play together well. We've been to the mountains before, when we were kids- i remember the drive (gorgeous) and some shopping, but not much more than that. It was a long time ago. DH has never been out there, so should be fun to experience something new for him.

So while it isn't disney, i am looking forward to it. I've booked the van, now need to book our Nashville hotel- i found a decent one i plan to book tomorrow.

so anyone have any tips on what we need to see- not miss- restaurants etc. in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area - or on the way there or back- we are taking 40 most of the way.

well back to the grind- i should have some trip updates - on the WDW trip soon! ADR day is quickly approaching---------only 10 days to go - april 17th!!!!!!

Michelle

I like all your plans :thumbsup2 I like scheduling times too like wake up, out door to catch bus, etc and a target time to leave the park when it's before closing :thumbsup2

sorry you still haven't figure out what to do w/ the flights down...my gut would say do the earlier flight...just for the time.
