Just wondering how many trick or treaters you got at your door? Plus what did you give out? candy or any special treats? I got 128 kids to stop and we gave out trick bags with juice boxes, crackers, stickers, tattoos, and spider rings. I'm just excited cuz this was our first year with visitors since we lived in a low travel area up till last year.

Daisy, I'll bet the kids loved that!

We had around 60 kids and gave out a variety of candy. I bought bite sized Twix and Three Musketeers. I also bought skittles, gummy life savers, sweet tarts, nerds, air heads, m & ms, tootsie rolls, and laffy taffy.

The kids starting coming at 6 pm and stopped around 8:30.

We had our first visit at 6:05 and the it really slowed down around 730PM but we had a few stop up till (about 10). I loved it...I even got to see a few of my daycare kids in their costumes and that has never happened in previous years.

My Meme (grandma) gives out soda. This little kid goes running down the porch yelling "Daddy that old lady is cool, she hands out soda and is pretendin to be a pumpkin". Meme was offended (shes a large lady who made the mistake of wearing orange)

We had less than 20 kids. Bummer. Bought a big bag of mixed candy at Costco - DH is determined to eat the rest now ;)

We only had 27, which was a real bummer this year. Typically we have around 40-50. It was a tad bit drizzly...though the forecast called for much worse. That may have had something to do with it.

I put together treat bags..each had a Halloween themed pencil and three erasers (black cat, pumpkin and skull), 2 pieces of chocolate candy (I had an assortment of Reeses, Twix, Butterfinger and Hershey bars), 1 piece of fruit candy (Skittles or Starburst) and 3 vanilla flavored Tootsie Rolls. My DH made fun of me as I counted out exactly what was to go in each bag. And since we had less than expected, we have LOTS of leftover candy!! :scared1:

We had hundreds. I was very disappointed that so many of them just opened their bag and didn't say "trick or treat" or "thank you". It took a lot of the fun out of it for me.

We had zero. :guilty:

That makes me sad because I LOVE seeing kids in their costumes. But unfortunately I live in a very rural area on a cul de sac. We put a fence up last year and I think that deters kids from coming. Also, in my community there are a LOT of Russian immigrant families and most of them refuse to partake in Halloween since their religion states that it is evil and all about devils and witches and pagans that want to sacrifice babies and boil puppies. :rotfl: No really, I think they come over here and just do not understand this holiday at all, so they see it as something really bad and not just good, innocent fun. It really, really frightens them, unfortunately. So we get few trick or treaters and the ones who are not Russian tend to go to other neighborhoods where people are willing to participate.

I plan to spend Halloween with my partner next year cuz she gets kids at her door! :woohoo:

wow all your kids started coming late! We had our first group at noon and they came until about 830. I have no idea how many kids came but it was less than normal- everyone I know had kids who were sick (including mine) so they couldn't go! I bought the big boxes of the full sized candy bars and thats what we gave out this year-I found it easier than those bite sized bars becasue when I gave those I could not just give one tiny picece of candy. I had to give about 3 piece so it was easy just tossing one big bar in!

We had about 150. we go to my mom's house since no one comes to ours. so my mom and I go in together and buy the full size candy bars.. I have to say Most said trick or treat; happy halloween; and only had a couple not say thank you. I love my mom's neighborhood.

That's how I was - we moved from the country to a suburban area. I always lived out in the boonies, so I never experienced any high-traffic, party-in-the-streets kind of trick or treating. Loved it!

This year, though, we only had about 20. Right after trick-or-treat began, there was a downpour. Only lasted a few minutes, but enough to get everyone soaked and put a real damper on the whole night.

we had 38 and gave out full size snickers. I had airheads as back up thinking we would get more than just the kids on our road, but the weather was so bad, no one else came

Same here, we got about 15 kids. Candy from Costco.

Where we live in WA we get 0....too rutal
I was at my AZ this year. It is a new delvelopment, at the end of a dead end street with empty lots and empty houses still around.....but we did get 38. I was excited.
Mostly little ones.
We handed out full size 3 Musketeers, Snickers, Skittles, Starburst and M&Ms.
We have missed this part of Halloween. Hoping next year is even better ::yes::

I stopped counting at 450. That is when we ran out of all the big stuff. We then went through about 8 bags of small stuff. I also did not count the kids who were to scared to come up the driveway!

We had 3 scary clowns, 2 zombies , 2 faceless men all scaring the kids.
Next year everyone said we should charge ( I bet they wourld change their tune if we did!!!).
It took a month to set up and just 1 sunday to tear down.:guilty:

Well, we get way too many kids (and adults--and yes, I give them candy too) to count....BUT I had 4 of those HUGE bags of candy bars that hold 100 pieces in them, plus won a Halloween basket at work that had 10 regular sized bags (they usually hold about 25 pieces) So I started with about 650 pieces of candy (assortment of chocolate bars and one bag of dum-dum lollipops). At the end of the night we had only a handful of candy left. ***and we only give out one piece at a time***

We live in a little housing development with 3 streets and many of the people come by car loads to get their candy loot. LOL
