Hi! We will be going to DL the end of October and would like to know your opinion on the party. Is it worth it for two adults, should we buy our tickets early or when we get down there. Also with all the work going on in DCA will they still have it?
Thanks

If you want candy then yes it is worth it.

I went last oct it was very crowded but we did get lots of candy the secret is head towards grizzlie everyone seems to go to the back lot first and it is a nightmare.

If you looking at riding the rides go to toy story mania first start at that end and work your way to the other.

Was it worth it yeah my 3 yr old loves it but it was very crowded I thought they let to many people in.

We went last year with our 2 boys... I would say its worth it just for the experience. Some of the highlights

Toystory mania was a breeze to get on

Candy :) (and good candy to boot)

Costumes we say some very cool costumes

Character meets

Decorations I thought it was done up very cool... It was well worth it

I think so. We had a great time when we went in 07. I definitely want to get back there this year!!

My 12y old son and I went last October and had a great time! We both got candy (lots of it) and did our favorites rides and met characters that are not usually out in the park except during this time. We also loved the decorations!

thanks for your input, I'm really looking forward to going, we have done DW many times but never DL halloween.

Where do you get tickets? Do they sell them online when it gets closer? And how much have they been in the past? Thanks!

They usually start selling the ticket in May. For AP holders they have specific days which ticket prices are only $20, well worth it, IMO. Yes, they sell them online in the AP section of the Disneylands website. Also DVC members can buy them at a discount.

I think the GP price is $25?

We've gone every year since they started it at DCA 03 or 04 - and we love it. :thumbsup2 We tend to go on Wednesday when crowds are low, but this year we plan for the 30th, as it is my DD's bday.

Have fun! :goodvibes

DW halloween party's are really good. You can actually arrive with your Mickey's not so scarry Halloween party ticket and get in at 4:00. The party starts at 7:00 and runs untill 12:00.
There are special fireworks, a halloween parade, a villians show infront of the castle, and a dance party in Tomorrowland. Throughout the park are stations to get your candy. Characters are set up in special areas wearing halloween costumes. Cinderella's coach is out and decorated with pumpkins, you can have your picture taken in front of it.
If you check out the disboards for DW and look up MNSSHP and ask questions and ask for pictures you will gets lots of info.
Hope this helps.

Disneymomma81, also the tickets are more expensive than DL, they are arround 42.00 - 45.00, you can buy them in advance and get them cheaper, the disboards should have more info.

My Dh and I went last year and had a blast!!!!

I always wanted to dress up and go to the parks. We decided we wanted to dress so we did. There was a mix of adults dressed in costumes and not. We accquired insane amounts of candy without waiting in almost any lines. We got on lots of rides and got some photos with characters. Overall we had a great time and I would so do it again!

I want to add the closer your date to Halloween the more important it is to pre-buy your tickets!! We bought ours last minute online since DH made a mistake and bought the first set of tickets for WDW instead of DL  Thank goodness all the talk here on the Dis board made me realise that the day of the week did not line up to what DL offered which is how I figured out the mistake.

We won't have PH's ~ will we have to have used our ticket that day at MK or could we go someplace else during the day and head over to MK for the party?

So I'm a bit confused here. So do they offer them to the general public online AFTER the APer's? Because we really want to go one time while we are there, but I want to buy them early if they possibly could sell out. And also try to get a good deal. :confused3

ALL DL tickets are park hoppers, unless you are buying So Cal 2fers or a single day ticket. You will need to have valid park admission for DCA to attend the ToT party. The party is not in DL, only in DCA.

Tickets go on sale to Apers and Disney Visa holders first, then they are released to the general public. Yes, it's possible they will sell out but if that does happen check eBay for your tickets. You can check here, there will be discussions aplenty when these tickets are released.

I just wanted to clarify this, if you want to go into the parks earlier in the day you will need either a single park admission or park hopper. BUT once ToT starts you only need the ToT ticket, that covers your admission into the DCA, you do not need anything else. All after hours special events include entrance into the park (only one's were the park is open to general admission do you usually have to buy seperate admission).

I also would say do not worry about getting your tickets all that early. Like I said we bought ours days before because of some confusion and had no issues getting tickets. This event does not sell out months before, I would only worry if you were trying to buy same day tickets or Halloween tickets a few weeks before the holiday. You will be fine :)

ETA: They also completely close DCA several hours before ToT to set everything up, so even if you have a admission ticket and plan on going to ToT you will have to leave the park and the re-enter when they re-open. Which is very different then the event at WDW I know.

The halloween party at Disneyworld starts at 7:00,(Magic Kingdom) but you can get in at 4:00 and go on the rides, eat etc.
What we have done in the past is done something else durning the day, shop, swim, visit the other resorts (Disneyworld has some beautiful resorts and you don't have to be staying there to visit them). We figure if we can get in at 4:00, why go earlier to the MK than that because you will have to use one of your day passes, unless you are going to another park that day, then just head over to the park in time for the party.

We will be attending this during some point of our trip in October and we will be able to buy in May as we are AP Holders. My question is what time does this event usually start up and last and should we bring something to put all the candy in??

Are you sure you don't need separate admission? Because when we went in 07 we had to have our APs scanned and our ToT ticket scanned too....they wouldn't let us without both types of admission.....

ToT is a hard ticket event. You can't use your AP for admission. You need ToT tickets specifically.

We've gone every year and never have we had to show our AP's - our ToT was enough.

Should you decide to enter DCA before the party starts, you must use park media for that and you will be cleared out of the park at 4pm. You can return to the park at 6pm or 6:30 depending on your party date and must have ToT tickets to enter. HTH. :thumbsup2
