What kind of candy is given out at the party? Is it a variety of chocolate and other non-chocolates(twizzlers, smarties, sweet tarts, etc). I was reading on a blog that the candy is "the good stuff. Mini twix, snickers etc" And to go to an alternate location for special diets. Surely it can't all be chocolate.
She's allergic to dairy, so she wouldn't be able to eat the chocolate. No big deal, as long as there's a bunch of other things she can have. I'll eat all the chocolate for her

It wasn't all chocolate. Pretty much the typical neighborhood trick or treating stuff - skittles, taffy, licorice, suckers, etc.

It's a good mix of different kinds of candy. Stop at City Hall before trick or treat anyway. in 2014 we were able to choose from a page of different candies with the allergens listed to make sure we had items that were safe. sarah at "gluten free dairy free wdw" had a great recap and shows the page we had with the candy choices.

Aside from the candy, we also got apple slices and those weird chips. I'll admit, that ended up being dinner that night since everyone was too excited to eat earlier.

It's a pretty good assortment.
We have gone to MNSSHP every year for about the last 10 years.
We were there 2 years ago with family whose small son has multiple allergies, including dairy and multiple kinds of nuts. He knew we could go to Guest Relations and get some safe treats for him. He elected to keep the treats he got ( he was afraid he would get apples if he traded his candy in).
After we got back yo our rooms, his mom and I sorted his candy into piles of what would be safe for him and he still ended up with a big pile of candy.
