Another thread on this board contained a post about getting to the front of Dueling Dragons using something called (IIRC) the second to front trick. Can anyone explain this? If it's what it sounds like, I don't think I'll do it but if it's a good trick I'd like to know.

Probably the person goes into the line for the second row and when there are only three people in the front row he is right there to fill in the empty seat. There isn't a single rider's line at DD and the line for second row is much shorter than the line for front row, so it can almost be used as a single rider's line for the front row.

Ah, I see. I had forgotten that there are four seats across instead of just two. That makes sense. I thought it might be more of an "oops, I'm confused" line cutting trick. Thanks for the info!

When it's not busy, there is a re-ride trick. There are signs that point to the re-entry door (there's one on each side) that brings you around again so you dont have to go back to the front entrance.

This summer, we got to IOA when it opened, headed right over to Dueling Dragons. We got in the front row three times consecutively with no waits and then did DD again four times with no waits in other rows (I could only do it one more time, but the teenagers I took were able to stomach it three more times after I became nauseated!!!!). This was in the first week in June. It was great!!!!!!!!!!!

Damo is correct. I do the 2nd row to front trick all the time as a single rider.
The ride ops don't care, because you're filling an otherwise empty seat. This trick can even get you on the train faster if a seat is available. Wait in row 2, and watch how many people are going to be in the front. If it's only 3, get ready. If you're a few people back in the line, say excuse me, I'm a single rider, and go thru the gate into the front. I've never had anyone get mad at me for moving forward to an empty seat, because it doesn't effect their position in the line.

In all my visits to anypark, people have happily let me through as a single rider as it makes no difference to them.

My trick for DD is (very naughty) I go into the express entrance (or the in through the exit if you like) say I'm just a single rider IF anyone is there and on I get. Failing that I walk straight into the re-ride entrance ;)

You learn something new every day here!!!! LOL....;)

I head right to DD as soon as the park opens and ride the front row of both Fire and Ice over and over and over... There's hardly anyone there at park opening and this is during the busy July 4th week. One morning I was riding with the ride ops as they tested it.

The official term for waiting in the 2nd row for an open front row seat is called "snaking."

Snaking. LOL, what a great term.

Wonder what they call someone who takes re-rides, where you get off the coaster, the load gates close, and an empty seat is still available.

The term for it (noun) would still probably be a re-ride. But the act of doing it (verb) could be something funny. Like Bouncing, Rubber Banding, Glueing, ect...

I should add that I only go to IOA off peak (September or October) so that probably helps, along with the great staff they have at IOA;)

That's called "vulturing." :)
