It's called something like "Triceratops Encounter and Discovery Trail" although there really isn't any "trail" component to it. We got in line, and first a team member came through with a fossilized Triceratops beak and an egg on a trolley. He was totally in character, telling us about the various triceratops that they have today. Then the line moved forward a bit and he moved back and we found ourselves at the front being entertained by another team member, who was asking us trivia and telling us the safety rules. He also prepped various members of the audience with questions to ask the scientist. He was also 100 percent in character.
Finally we were taken down to a shed, and when we walked in we found ourselves looking at a giant triceratops in a paddock. Her allergies were apparently acting up, according to the scientist, and she was sneezing all over people. The scientist was very funny and also very informative, taking questions from the crowd and telling us all about the triceratops, including some bits I recognized from the movie (about the dinosaurs missing some enzyme and all being female), so they can't escape and breed. She took a sample of snot off of a fellow who'd been sprayed.
That was the only encounter we saw, but apparently there's two or three more, and they're all different. If you go through again, all you have to do is alert a team member, and they'll make sure you're directed into a different shed.
We volunteered for one of the surveys afterward and noted that there was an "if you saw a baby triceratops" section, so there may be a baby lurking around somewhere. We're *definitely* going to have to try this again tomorrow. It opens at 10am.
BTW, Islands of Adventure is very crowded today! It's the first busy day we've had all week. Hogsmede is
packed.
