Trial Club Level Fastpass+ Purchase Program Planning & Discussion

This thread has been so helpful. We're less than 90 days away but decided we would take the plunge and get the extra CL FPs today. It's a first visit for both of us in DECADES and we're really looking forward to everything. I called DSS this morning and spoke to Liz who helped me get everything in the times I wanted, and it took less than half an hour. Now just looking at items on my Fast Pass page has me even more excited for my trip. I'm so glad I was able to call and seem 90%
knowledgeable and make the process easy for both of us. Could not have done it without all of you!

Did you ask about night viewing for your trip?

Made my CL FPP reservations this morning. CM seemed pretty knowledgeable....but on the new rider switch policy, even she admitted that it is not being applied uniformly in the parks; some CM's are requiring both adults to have FP's; some are not. I pointed out that it seems to defeat the purpose of RS if you require a FP for it, but she sort of verbally shrugged. I can't believe that Disney hasn't communicated a clear policy from the top down. She did give me an extra FPP for the lost reserved viewing, but was more reluctant to do so than the original CM I spoke to a few days ago. I had to pull them out of her a little bit.

In reality people have been able to duplicate no issues. With DSS most people are told no double FPs, and once a CM went so far as to re-book someone’s duplicated FPs when they changed them fairly quickly after the DSS booking. There have been a couple reports of CMs saying the system will cancel the duplicate FP but we have no reports of that actually happening. Imho once you modify to include a duplicate, don’t contact DSS anymore.
I agree! While we were there my DH wanted me to call them for help with something. I said no way! They’ll tell me to change my duplicate.

I also made mine today and I also couldn’t get the preferred viewing but no mention of an extra FP. How did you get yours?

I think it is one of those things that they are not going to offer unless you explicitly raise it with them. On Monday I made a point of saying how I had planned our days around the nights shows (which is true, b/c HEA is only playing 1 of our viable nights due to MNSSHP) and how disappointed I was in the change since I had made my CL room reservation months ago. THEN, they mentioned the extra FPP and that they would make a note in my record for when I called back today. Then I called today and had to push a little to get it nevertheless, but I did. So I would call back and raise that. Let me know how it goes for you!

I was told that HEA at MK doesn’t have preferred view, after read this it seems that it does or?

As of September 16th, there will not be HEA preferred viewing for CL guests. You’ve received your #4 FP in lieu of no viewing at all. ;)

Also, the only way to get any kind of "preferred viewing" of HEA is to purchase a dessert party package. There is no FPP for HEA.

(So I went ahead and booked the dessert party for that night i.e. now I am paying for a preferred view when I had hoped it would have been part of the CL package.)

Finally catching up on this thread after a few weeks away, and I'm really disappointed to learn that nighttime viewing has been removed from the program. As I posted last month after using the CL FPs, the HEA reserved viewing was no doubt one of the better values for the CL FPs. I have been planning on using the CL FP program for our late November trip, but given how exhausting and sometimes stressful we found juggling 6 FPs to be, I'm on the fence without HEA viewing. It seems like some value has been removed from the program without a change in price. Glad to hear people are now getting FPs for the other nighttime viewing locations- I'll be keeping an eye on this before deciding whether to book!!

I’ve been so confident about booking these. Been working out an itinerary for months. Now as I close in on less than two weeks to book, I’m starting to get cold feet. Toy Storyland seems completely doable with just one FP for Skinky and rope dropping the others. We have more than one day at Epcot. We are spending our MK day on a party day where we have found it pretty easy to get rolling FPs. And two out of four of us don’t go on FoP. I just don’t know anymore. Anyway, if I do book these and make my regular FPs at the same time, what happens to those regular FPs if I do decide to eventually cancel my purchases?

Okay, so we have a DVC trip coming up very quickly and my 60 day window starts next week. How do I purchase or arrange the extra fast passes and will they show up for booking on MDE? Who do I call?

Thank you!

We are staying club level and well within our 90 day window. I never got any type of phone call or E-mail offering this to us. I was on the fence once the nighttime shows were taken away anyway (specifically HEA as I planned on doing this instead of a dessert package), but it doesn't make me very happy that it would not even be offered to us unless I knew about it and called.

Are you staying in one of the AKL DVC CL rooms, a Poly Bungalow, or WL Cabins? Those are the only DVC room types eligible to purchase the trial program.

Disney has been doing very little, if any, advertising regarding this trial program - it's really just word of mouth, forums like this, and blog sites/news sites that reported it back when it was announced. I'm sure they have their reasons, although who knows why. I have often wondered why they haven't advertised - my assumption is they're getting a good enough sample size as-is for whatever "trial/test" they have in mind.
