My boys love this place. I also think it's pretty cool. On our last trip, I couldn't get a ressie at a time or date that I wanted. What we did was walk up to the resturaunt and put our name on the list. We had zero problems getting in. When we went up there the wait was so short we left and came back. I was actually told by the place when I called that this is what we should do since most tables can't be reserved. So if you wanted to you could go there and check it out one day and see if you would want to eat here or not. Has the typical food, check the menu. We like it thought:goodvibes

I would not go to DTD just to eat there, but if you plan to be there for some reason and have kids who are fans of dinosaurs it's a decent option.

The food is slightly above maybe an Applebees, possibly comparable to Chili's so not worth an extra trip and certainly not worth cutting out park time for. From a food perspective there is nothing they do there that you can't find somewhere else better and not have to deal with the hassle of getting to DTD to eat. From a decorative perspective, it is very nicely done.

Most tables aren't reserved through Disney, but if you call 407-828-8739 you can make a reservation through the restaurant directly.

This is who I called and they did not have any tables for the night we wanted. The person I talked to said to just show up and they always have enough. We actually walked up and they could get us in too fast so we left and came back. We literally waited 5 minutes. I think next time I will do the same thing. Then we can use a table service in the parks instead.

I would only keep it if you have a dinosaur obsessed kid in your party. My nephew loves his dinos so we always go with him and he loves it, otherwise it's pretty mediocre. Not terrible or inedible just meh.

Great review and pictures! Fun to read :) We also enjoy T-Rex and are going again; however, we stay at POFQ and end up at DTD several times a trip, so it makes TRex convenient for us to get to. We found the food to be very good and our service was excellent. We used Landry cards (Paid $25 for them but got $25 back right away and a $25 birthday bonus- our yearly trips to Disney happen to be month of DH's birthday, so we put card in his name and we were able to apply the $50 to entire meals). I *think* it also got us 10% off in the TRex store afterwards. Enjoy.

I would pick another. Loud, chaotic and lousy food.

My kids loved T-rex. It can be loud and there is a "meteor shower" every 20 minutes so keep that in mind. The food was similar to a chain restaurant, but was definitely not my least favorite meal of the trip. The portions are huge though. It's a great experience, I have a fantastic picture of my little one's eyes all lit up watching the dinosaurs, but if you're going for the food, there are better options.

We went a couple years ago at my son's request. We've been to Rainforest locally and it's okay, typical chain restaurant food. We weren't expecting much more from T-Rex.

Have to say we were pleasantly surprised! The food was very, very good. Not gourmet by any means, but definitely a step above many other chain places. Huge portions so consider sharing to cut costs. The service there was the best we received our whole week in Disney.

Yes, loud and chaotic--just have to know that going in. And, as a PP mentioned, if you call the restaurant directly instead of the Disney system, you can get a table pretty much any day/time you want.

Would definitely recommend.

:thumbsup2Love Trex. Both atmosphere and food, but I'll agree it does get pretty loud. You can also make your own dino in build a dino workshop.

From reading the replies, just goes to show that everyone has their opinions on each restaurant. Our opinion is skip T-Rex. We didn't care for the food (of course we don't like Rainforest either) and the light shows in there did weird things to us - hurt our eyes and made us slightly nauseous. We Won't go back!

We went last June. Our kids were 16 and 8. Both loved it. I was pretty meh about it. Okay, chain restaurant type food (and I'm not a foodie, at all!). If you think your kids would like it, I'd say try it.

In our party of 10 (which included boys ages 4, 9 , 13 and girls 11 and 7) no one liked Trex. It was our least favorite dining experience of the trip. Very noisy, chaotic, and mediocre food. We won't be back.
