I asked the DVC van driver (a CM) about the Treehouses area on our way to the DVC sales office at SSR. I was just curious what he had to say as there had been some talk on here about that recently. I don't know if this is a repeat of what's been said or not, (it seems to somewhat replicate some info I read on here awhile ago) but I thought I'd share for anyone who was interested.
According to him, after SSR is complete, they plan to tear down some of them and refurbish others. They can't build on certain parts of the land because it's considered conservation land (?) and therefore protected and can't be changed (or at least built on again) -- but from the sounds of it, they plan to eventually have some of them restored for use again. The area is all incorporated into SSR property.
He sounded pretty sure of himself, so I just thought I'd pass along the info. Curious to see if others have heard similar or more details.

Thanks for sharing..... I hadn't read much about them up here, but that was my favorite place to stay when I was a kid. I can still vividly remember waking up to peacocks on the deck each morning.
They were incredibly spacious -- we had 4 adults, 2 kids and a baby. That separate laundry room was heaven!
