Treehouse Villa's

The two of you get the master. Mom and step dad get the other bedroom with the two queen beds. Two boys get the third bedroom with the bunks. Stepbrother and wife get the sleeper sofa in the living room.

Thats how I'd do it, too. Just a correction: the queen bedroom has only one bed.

We're in one starting March 24th, and we can't wait! My parents, myself, my son(10) and twin girls(7).

It will be my son's 11th birthday and my 45th during the trip. How cool is spending your 11th birthday in a treehouse in WDW?

I can't wait to see my parents when they see the treehouse. They are used to the old motel style place, and I don't think they've spent over $50 a night in their lives.

I'll post a report when we get back.

2 of my best friends from grade school and I stayed in a THV in October. :goodvibes. It was a truly amazing experience and I'm really happy we did it. I would do it again with very mobile adults but not with any little ones or anyone who has problems walking. We were only a stone's throw from the North Bus Stop but it was still a good walk to our Tree House after a long day in the parks. And one of my friends wasn't as mobile as the other 2 of us were. It was also a good hike to the pool. We were in 7002 which is closest to the back entrance to the THV's and the farthest from the walkway to the Grandstand. :scared:.

The Positive is that the buses from the THV to the Grandstand or the Springs ran every 12 minutes from 6 am to 10 or 11 pm so it was easy to plan to get to a bus stop to catch a bus to one of the parks.. :cool2:.

The private deck really was wonderful and you do feel as though you are totally away from civilization...

I say go for it at least once, but be prepared to do some walking;)

THV are awesome I wish we had enough points to stay in them every time we went!!!!

Pretty much. Caro and I had the master bedroom, our friends had the Queen, our two DD's had the bunk beds, friends DD's and friend's mom had the living room's two fold outs.

Thanks everyone! I was thinking this arrangement would be the best, but since we're new to DVC not sure how others incorporate family & friends (i.e. I didn't want to feel selfish :snooty: taking the master bed).

The one who pays the dues gets the master bedroom. That's an unwritten DVC rule. Even Jim Lewis isn't going to change that one.

Don't feel too guilty. IIRC, unlike every other DVC villa I can think of, the master bedroom has a queen bed instead of a king. The ensuite bath is much nicer than the second bathroom, but you can let other people use it.

Just got home last night and we talked to a family on the boat a few times staying in a treehouse, while the parents loved the villa the children weren't to impressed with the time it took to get into the parks using the buses. They were actually on the boats to go to downtown dis to catch a bus from there to the parks, they said it was quicker. I don't know? but it must not have been too big a deal because it was their 2nd stay in a treehouse.

Unless there's been a very recent change, there is not bus service between Downtown Disney and the Parks. They do this to discourage people from using the DTD free parking when going to a park.

Perhaps they meant they took the boat to SSR to catch the bus?

We found it easiest to walk from the Tree House to the Grandstand bus stop when going to the parks in the morning. It was quicker than doing the two-bus thing, and got us on at the first stop instead of the last, so there was a better chance at finding a seat.

Unless there's a boat at the dock ready to leave, I can't see it being faster than the bus. It's certainly not faster than walking.

We thoroughly enjoyed the treehouse villas in November of 2009. We had two for the week of Thanksgiving. One for 4 adults, which gave them each their own bedroom, and since they were not couples, that was important to them. The other for our family of four and another couple. This gave us all plenty of space. The only caution I would have from our experience, is for a short trip like ours, being 5 days, and having kids who needed to go back for naps, the extra commute time via Disney buses did add up. We are fans of using Disney transportation in general for its convenience (and the environment) but can see why on a shorter trip, if you plan to go back and forth a decent amount, it would be better to have your own car.

Bought more points because of them.

As did we:cool1:
With only 30 in DVC inventory, I figured we would need home booking advantage in regards to the busy months!

We stayed there August 09, staying there again on Thursday...can't wait! And we will be there for Christmas...just got our 10 nights booked:cheer2:
We LOVE LOVE LOVE them!

When we were there in August, the tree frogs were outrageous(in a good way)! Not in the way of anything, just on all of the light fixtures (outside) trying to get bugs. DH taped them on his cell phone because they were so loud! Hoping to hear them again, but I'm afraid it will be too cold for the tree frogs.

We love the 3BR for the price of 2. Love that you have the choice of walking to grandstand or taking internal bus. Far enough away from the craziness, but not too isolated. It felt like we had our own house. Noone above or below you. We never saw neighbors (even though they must have been there).

We stayed last Febraury and it was awesome. I just thought the bus service was a little too drawn out. At night we just want to get home fom the parks and to have to transfer buses was a lot. One night we waited at SS for 30 minutes to get a bus back to the treehouse. HOWEVER that one experience is not a reason to not experience them

They have two or three bus stops in that area so it isn't far at all to catch bus transportation.

Oohh JL could use this as a "tiered benefit" - any member owning 150 points or less will have to draw stars with their friends/family at the beginning of their trips to determine sleeping arrangments :joker:!!

Ok, please continue with more THV talk...

If those points were bought resale, they'll be given a room with nothing but sleeper sofas. Check-in will change to 7 pm for all members to give housekeeping enough time to assemble and disassemble beds during check-in cleanings.

We're staying here in may with my niece and her family, it's their first trip. We'll have a car, so that's not a big deal, my DH will have to help me up the steps, cause I'm partly disabled. Once I'm inside, it won't be a big deal, and don't want a fully accessable THV, cause we want the tub :) It'll be good, since we'll have 3 kids, 13,5 and 1, and 2 couples. I can't wait!!!!!! :)
