Has anyone stayed at SSR Treehouse Villas, would love to hear what you thought. Was it buggy like I heard? How's the pool it looks kind of plain. The villas look so fun but I am worried we would feel too far removed from the main pool etc.:)

What pool? I didn't think the Treehouses had their own pool (or didn't have one yet). Do you have a picture of that?

We were fortunate enough to check in on June 4th 4009 :goodvibes We did not encounter a bug issue and really enjoyed the quiet pool. The main pool was a 10 minute leisure walk from our villa because we were lucky enough to be located right by the pool area. I'm not certain that I would be as happy with the proximity of other treehouse villas though. The bus service was still being tweaked during those first few weeks.....However, I am planning to attempt to book again for April 2011. My hubby wants to try Kidani Villas for our family trip this year but the kids can't stop asking for the Treehouses!

Thank you for the info. We just stayed at Kidani in Oct. 2009 and it is a great place to experience. We stayed in a 1 bedroon savana view. We saw plenty of animals and the pool was fantastic. You should give it a try at some point!

We stayed at THV for a week in September and a week Feb/March. No bugs either time. I can't tell you how special the THV are IMO. We absolutely loved it there. :cloud9:

The THV pool is rather small but as in everything else about THV, there is great attention to detail in a fountain with frogs spewing water. :wizard: We were in the same villa both times near the South end. I timed the walk to the gate on the North end at under 10 minutes. The pool was North of us so no villa would be a very long walk.

I think it would be about a 10 minute walk to the Grandstand pool. Or you could take the walk across the bridge and along the golf course to get to the main pool. That should be just a bit over 10 minutes I think. It was less than 10 minutes bridge to bridge near the clubhouse for me.

We have a trip scheduled for September in the Treehouse Villas. Can't wait!:goodvibes

How big are the bunk beds? Are they normal size for an adult to sleep in?

Thanks much

It's our new favorite place. No bugs, a 10-15 minute leisurely stroll to the main SSR area, and being somewhat removed from the rest of the "World" is just how we like it. :cloud9:

Here's a great review with lots of photos:

Another with some outdoor photos.

On the DVC miscellaneous and planning forums you can find more reviews and info. Most people seem to love them as did we.

BasilofBakerstreet, our young adult son slept in the lower bunk both trips but he is short. To me they appear to be normal size bunkbeds. I've seen varying opinions on that. I think that first link may help you judge....he took pictures of everything!:goodvibes
