Just heard the following from Kathy W....

One of the branches fell down so the area is closed around the tree. It’s Tough to be a Bug and the Kid’s Discovery Club is closed until further notice.

I wouldn't even be able to get close to the area. If I hear anything more I will go over to AK.

I just meant first hand as in " is this a real report?" since I'm not familiar with the source that first reported it. Sounds like we've got more confirmation!

Since we are headed down to wow this weekend it sounds like this solves our dilemma about whether it's tough to be a bug will scare our toddler or not!

Wow, I am surprised to hear this and wonder if it is one of the branches that is visible from further out in the park. If so, would they cover it up somehow?

One of the reports I read somewhere said this was a 5 lb branch. If that's true then its a fairly small branch and its loss is probably not even noticeable.

No doubt its a safety issue though. I'm sure there is fear that this may indicate some unexpected deterioration in the structure and Disney will need to check the structural integrity. To do otherwise would not be prudent.
