Went past the Tree houses on our way to SSR for a brief stay this past week, and noticed that there was someone in the guard shack, lights were on on several of the Tree houses, and there were a number of vehicles in the parking areas. Also saw a sign posted at the gate: "Cast members only" Being the inquisitive type, I asked the front gate guard at SSR about it, and he said that they {tree houses} were being operated by someone other then Disney. Knowing how these cast members, guard shack folks or whomever, have a tendencey to stretch the truth or just out right make up a story, I asked 6 other Cast members at various spots throughout SSR, and I got several versions of a pretty similar story. {but not the part about someone else running the place} They are apparentley housing Brazilian students who are part of the Disney CM exchange program in the Tree houses at this time, but not renting them out to guests.......in case anyone was wondering.

This confirms what we were told in May. Thanks for the info.

The Tree Houses are being used by the "WDW International College Program" for housing. The land is managed by Price Management, but still owned by Disney.

Right now, I imagine that a large majority of the residents are from Brazil, but I do not beleive it is restricted to just them. They actually live all in all of the complexes. The Brazilians are only here for a 2 month work internship period.

Just this past Thursday as we were taking the boat from POFQ to DTD our boat driver told us that the treehouses were being used to house the international program. We saw a few people in the rooms. And I did see a lot of Brazilians working in the shops (as a matter of fact the girl that checked me out at Merchent of Venus was from Brazil and it was her first day.)

Yeah, the Brazil IC Program only lasts 2 months. They arrived about 2 weeks ago, and will be here through late January.
