Has anyone had luck at making a reservation for the THVs at 7 months? And if so, what month is/was your stay?

Perhaps a more important follow-on question, "And if so, how many nights?" I'd guess it is easier to pick up short stays (1-2 nights) w/in the 7-month window than longer stays.

FWIW, I waitlisted for a 1-night stay to add to a December reservation last year. Was on the waitlist for 8 months 3 weeks and did NOT pick up the 1-night.

I had success at 7 mos. minus a 2-day waitlist. Our reservation is for Aug. 7 - 12...5 nights...starting on a Saturday. I didn't do anything other than waitlist at 7 mos...and then checked the website every day after that...and almost went into shock when I saw it came through. I kept checking to make sure it didn't magically disappear. Really couldn't believe my eyes.

We MAY be an unusual case though...I'm reading a lot of non-successes, even at 11 months.

We are going in May. When I booked it on the morning of my 11 month mark, the CM told me that I had just gotten the last one available. I remember reading another poster saying they waitlisted at 11 months for May and it still had not come through as of a few weeks ago.

I would love to have read that it is possible, but the responses so far are what I expected. This is definitely one place I want to stay some day. I'm hoping that at some point I will be able to get a night or two there.

I know that they aren't perfect but the Availability thread for THV for Sept 2010 (Six Months) are not showing many dates as unavailable. I guess it all depends on the time of year you are hoping to go.

I called at the 7 month mark for our stay in October to change from BLT to WLV (which I got) and a waitlist for a THV. Would be fun if it came through but if not I will be very happy with WLV as well.

For my "How much I saved with DVC" spreadsheet I looked up for how much a THV goes at CR. They still have availability there. But of course this doesn't help us DVC Members...
