The rumors were true!! Invites went out recently for the Christening of the Treasure in NYC on November 19-20th. So excited. Hope to be able to go down there and take some pics of her either docked or in the Harbor.

If I were in NY, I’d find a place that allows viewing the ship as it sails in (and/or out). Docked at Chelsea Pier seems like a little more tucked in.

Let’s watch for further details of arrival time.

I know you see a lot of Manhattan and NJ on a sail in/out. I hope the cast Members get the opportunity to take it in.

A spot down near Battery Park, to catch the Statue of Liberty and the Treasure would be a fun photo.

I grabbed that invite from someone who posted it online. Wish I was invited!!! There is some speculation on where the ship will be docked. While the invite says Pier 60 that is a really a party venue....the ships that dock there are mostly yachts. I do not think a ship the size of the Treasure could dock at Chelsea Piers. I also heard that the ship will stay in the Harbor for the Christening and dock over night at either Pier 88 or 90 (where they usually dock). If that is the case anywhere along the Hudson river on either the NY or NJ side should give a good view of the ship when docked at Pier 88 or 90.....best would be right out front of the terminal at about 12th Ave and 55th Street. None of those details have been made public. Apparently, though, they are ahead of schedule so will sail to Port Canaveral first to pick up crew and supplies and then head up to NY for the Christening instead of going directly to NYC from Germany.

When I used to work in Jersey City, right on the water, it was a great spot to watch the ships going out (I sure as hell wasn't in the office early enough to watch them come in). Probably the only thing I miss about working in Jersey City. Since I'm in midtown Manhattan now, I'll have to try to get over to the pier to get a peek.

I work in Lower Manhattan so I get to see a lot of ships docked in and going out of the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. It's always a treat to see the QM2. I'll have to get uptown for this one.

Usually those are invited previews - travel advisors, "influencers", cast members, family and friends of crew.

I know someone on the 7 day preview cruise over Thanksgiving and was told it is “sold out” so they probably offered it to CMs and others as already mentioned. Definitely not to the general public.

Just curious if Disney paid for this person to fly out/hotel etc... or is it just an invite to the event? Sounds fun can't wait to see the live stream tomorrow!

Is the Treasure going to be based out of NYC? That would be really nice to be able to pop into the city or Brooklyn, even Jersey instead of having to fly down to Florida. It would also be nice for Disney to do a Bermuda cruise again.

Nope, it's just visiting this week. It will be based out of Port Canaveral for the time being.
