I've used 10 so far:
4x duds
4x 5000 credits
1x 2000 credits
1x buried in treasure magic

All of my 4 magics so far have been done in Town Square and I have gotten the following:

5K exactly where I am standing in picture above (South)
Tiki Fountain just a bit to the right (Instance ?)
Buried in Treasure Magic right where the trolley rails meet, just below and to the lower right of where I am standing (Instance ?)
Sorcerer Hat next to lower left tree (Instance ?)

I do remember when they had the quest to get the Treasure Detector Magic and back then you did have to hit "specific" spots in order to get something.

For those that have struck out so far, keep at it

5000 credits in the Frontierland Hub, 5000 credits in a guest room and Sorcerer Hat in the Emporium.

I have gotten a lot of 2,000 and 5,000 credits as well as tiki fountain and the buried in treasure magic.

Some duds but for the most part a win.
