Treadmill (technical) troubles

So I got a treadmill free off of craigslist! I was excited until I plugged it in to use it today. The first 5 minute warm-up went great, and then it just... stopped. I noticed it had tripped, so I manually reset it and went back to it.

It lasted 3 minutes before tripping again.


I live in a 90 year old home with knob/tube wiring. I'm wondering if the treadmill just isn't getting enough juice (our fridge has gone out several times because it wasn't getting enough amperage).

Or perhaps the treadmill is on it's last leg.


Any thoughts?

It's kind of like an ailing knee. You need to have someone look at it. Could be an amp issue, a board, a motor, or dead. The cost of a service call will still keep the price less than a new one
