Treadmill Nirvana and other ramblings

hope your surgery went well sunny----you can come be my coach..i need to get a bit motivated..
18 miles is amazing--
hope you had a great weekend!

Thanks for the warm wishes for recovery.

Surgery went fine. I jogged to the hospital at 5:30 AM, partially to get one last run in before my two week recovery and partially because it was the easiest way to get there without asking DM to come up so early. The general anesthesia (sp?) really threw me for a loop. It was over 6 hours in recovery before I could stand up. That was awful. But the legs are in great shape, even though they look horrendous with bruises up and down both. I've been doing everything but running :teeth: I only asked about the running so I figure the rest is fair game. I am not doing any high-impact stuff and no lower body weights until I get the ok next Tuesday.

On to other news: I bought some size 8 pants and shorts :earseek: This utterly amazes me since my weight hasn't changed significantly. I'm not comfortably in a size 8 yet, but some styles fit now. Wooo Hooo! Two more weeks until Lifetime. I am hanging just at 1 lb above goal. I really, REALLY wanted to be a few pounds below goal by the end of maintenance but such is life :confused3

I can't wait to run again.................

Sunny

Sunny - Glad to hear everything went well with your surgery. You're the only person I know who would run to their surgery :teeth: Congratulations to getting those size 8 pants/shorts. I have some size 8 shorts that are just a little tight too, but hope to be in those by the end of the summer (just in time for me to put them away for the season  ) Even though you haven't lost anymore weight, your body HAS to be more toned with all that running you do.

2 more weeks? I can't believe how quickly it has gone by. I gained 3 pounds from my 2 week vacation, so it's going to take me a little longer to get to goal :guilty:

Hope you have a speedy recovery.... :flower:

Oh Sunny,

I am so glad to hear that your surgery went well. ::yes:: Congrats on the size eights too! That is wonderful Sunny! :Pinkbounc

I hope that everything goes well for you and that you are able to get back to running soon. :goodvibes

Glad to hear the surgery went well and sorry about all the bruises - running to surgery   YOU GO GIRL!!!!!

Keep on
Chris

Hey Sunny - Haven't seen a post from you in awhile and hope all is going well. I hope you have fully recovered from your surgery and I'm sure you're back into your regular routine.

Did you ever make it to Lifetime?? I'm sure you did, but let us know. I'm hoping to hit goal in about 4 weeks, if I can just keep my pace going. There IS a light at the end of that tunnel, right? :goodvibes

Hope your having a great weekend :sunny:

Hope things are going well. I notice on the exercise challenge your numbers are looking good so I know you are out there running! You are a real inspiration.

Thanks everyone for stopping by. I have seriously neglected my journal lately

The news of the day......

I made lifetime today!!!!!

I made a 72 hour excel spreadsheet and checked off each hour as I made it through. During the 72 hours I ate just zero point veggies (tons) and lean protein (chicken breast, fish, egg whites). I wasn't hungry at all during this time but I sure missed my snacks. I also ran 15 miles on Saturday and another 7 today before WI. I wanted to be darn sure I was below 162.0 since last week I was 166.2. I was 158.2!!!! EIGHT pounds down from last week. But last week was a 4 lb water blip. I really have to stop being so dramatic :rotfl:

Yep, Calena, I'm out there running agian. I had a couple of really lousy runs post-op. The weather has been horrible. But I'm starting to feel like myself on the run again :goodvibes

Tera: I had a similar shopping experience to yours. I took DD school shopping and tried on a few things. They fit, but I looked long and hard in the tri-panel mirrors that show your back side. I am amazed at how big my stupid saddle bags still are. I swear they look as big as when I wore a 14 or larger :confused3 . I'll just keep running until they fall off :rotfl:

So now the challenge of Lifetime. I know myself. I can see myself playing all sorts of games to get to that once a month WI. I plan on weighing in every week to stay honest. I could do a lot of damage in one month!!!!!

I'm so happy, here's :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: to go around :goodvibes

Sunny

Oh Sunny that is absolutely and totally awesome!!!! I'm so happy for you - BRAVO!!!!!!! Keep up the good work - YOU ROCK!!!!!

I went out for Mexican :rotfl2: But I only ate half my entre and half of a dessert I shared with DS. It was fun :goodvibes

OK, time for more pics :earboy2:

I just posted these on the Marathon trainig thread, so I figured I'd post them in my journal, too. The subject was "arms", so that's the focus of the pics.

I'm still not ready to post my legs :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Not until the saddle bags fall off one day on a run!

Wow Sunny! :earseek:

Have a great Thursday! :sunny:

Sunny - Love the pictures!! I'll have to have DH take some of me and have you help me post them. I know what you mean about the legs, mine don't look much smaller either.

Congratulations on reaching lifetime!! :cool1: What a great accomplishment for you. I hope to be there celebrating one day soon too.

Well first week of Lifetime didn't go so smoothly :guilty: I ate like a pig. I know it was the backlash of being so super stringent the week before my final WI to make LT. I just kept "rewarding" myself all week. I didn't WI today. Its the first week since joining WW that I opted not to WI at meeting. I just have to get sensible again and I'll be fine for my Sept. WI. But I really need to budget in a cushion for the winter months. The winter clothes alone will put me up 2 lbs!

Running is going great again. I did an 8 mile run last Wed, and a 16 miler on Friday. I'll be doing 18 miles this Saturday. I've started official marathon training last week :cool1:

Saturday I took DS to a wildlife reservation and we hiked. I piggy-backed him about a mile. It was such a good reminder of what life was like with all the extra weight (and he only weighs 56 lbs not 80!!!!!). He swam in the lake and I longed to really hit the trails, but we had a good time. I have to come up with some winter activities for us. He would be too bored with snow shoeing and too young to cross-country ski. Any suggestions? I can always take him sleding, but I would like some sort of hiking/skiing sort of thing if possible. Maybe I could snow shoe and pull him on his sled!

Sept 13 will be my one year anniversary with WW. I'm hoping to be steadily under 160 by then. I need to buy fall clothes but everytime I go shopping all I end up buying is more running clothes  So I may end up wearing CoolMax clothes to work soon!

So after a week of overeating, I am focusing on the famous WW phrase:

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels. How true! Get it through your thick skull, Sunny

Sunny

Sunny - You've have done so well that it's okay to enjoy yourself once in awhile. Don't freak out, and with your running, you'll be fine. I've been with WW for a year as of Thursday and I'm still not even to goal, so just think of how far you've come.
