There are a couple of good deals listed on Travelzoo.com for hotels in the Orlando area. I have never stayed at these and can't recommend them, but the prices look good:

I couldn't pass up the price for the Comfort Inn LBV for my first night in Aug. - $43 total!!!

Here's the info from TravelZoo:

Special Offer from Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista:

$39 -- Orlando Hotel this Summer, 45% OFF***
Orlando, FL
Travel dates: Through Oct. 15
* Here's your chance to stay near Downtown Disney for just $39 per night. This amazing offer from the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista in Orlando includes weekends and is good July 30-October 15. With this offer you save close to 45% OFF regular prices, but you must book by August 4.

We love the FREE extras the hotel offers: Continental breakfast, shuttle to parks, Wireless-Hi-Speed Internet in the lobby, kids under 12 eat free, and on-site parking. And we really love that you can upgrade for $20 more per night, to a Family Fun suite.

All rooms at the Comfort Inn have a refrigerator, microwave, coffee-maker, hairdryer, safe and cable TV including the Disney Channel. The hotel also has 2 pools, a lounge with a big screen TV, video arcade, and allows pets.

I have stayed at both hotels. The Hampton is nice and near the outlet mall/Universal but the Comfort Inn is fine and it's closer to Disney. Neither are resort hotels but good if you just want a comfortable place to sleep and get an adequate breakfast. You can't get any better unless you do priceline but with this you know what you are getting.

descriptions are not always on the "mark"

not all refrigerators are created equal....when we stayed there Comfort INN the "fridge" was a recycled "bar fridge" like the ones that have food in them in HOTELS....it did not keep anything cold...

The Hotel Royal plaza is a great deal.
I wanted to book it but it has a nonrefundable one night's stay if you cancel. I rather be able to cancel without penalty.

I've stayed at that hampton Inn, it's fine, a typical Hampton Inn. My guess is that they haven't started renovations yet like other HI's. I wonder if you can still get Hilton Honor's points?
