Travels With Teens: Take Two “I Can Organize This Trip in My Sleep!”BC Dee in DC Roti & Fini p. 40

Boo! I don't like these lists!

They had to do something to bum us out since we didn't each get the individual Tragical Depress letters.

Wow, when you guys move in, you just do whatever the heck you want with the place, huh? :rolleyes1

And still, Disney continues to take our money year after year after year!

::yes::

Gotta be the platter. Because why would you get anything else.

Good point!

I can see both sides. Maybe if they're in the line of sight it would be ok. But yeah, you're responsible for these kids. You know, kids that are old enough to walk to the food court, grab a bite to eat and return to you.

But they're also old enough to unleash hell or find trouble in the blink of an eye.

They would have been out of view at the food court. I stick with the belief that sticking with them was the correct thing to do.

:magnify:

OH MY GOSH!!! WHY??? VOMIT??? Somebody should be slapped for inventing these!

That would be J.K. Rowling

:wizard:

She might have written about them, but I highly doubt she was in the kitchen or lab, or whatever trying to get just the right mix to make vomit flavor. It's the person who took it to that level that has some issues.

On the subject of card games you should check out "exploding kittens". I know I know sounds violent but even though it sounds it and has a young age guide my kids and their cousins aged 9-27 love playing it at family get togethers so much so that my youngest requested it for his birthday :)

Fair enough!

I think the Bertie Botts are produced by the Jelly Belly company, so there is someone over there to blame.

You didn't mention it includes goats!!!

Thanks for the tip, I just ordered it!!! An I.O.U. will make it into Ben's Easter basket, I needed something to balance out the John Wayne DVDs that will be in Nate's basket.

It will be interesting to see if this is an appropriate game for the farm where I work, since it is a MSPCA-related rescue farm. But this may be perfect on days with bad weather for the elementary age after school group.

Exploding Kittens.jpg
  • Exploding Kittens is a card game for people who are into kittens and explosions and laser beams and sometimes goats.
  • Family-friendly, party game for 2-5 players (up to 9 players when combined with any other deck).
  • This is the most-backed project in Kickstarter history and all cards feature illustrations by The Oatmeal.
  • Includes 56 cards (2.5 x 3.5 inches), box, and instructions.
  • This box, like 99.99% of boxes, does not meow.
:cat:

Will do. Seven weeks till we go. :-)

I hope you guys get as much fun from exploding kittens as we do :cat::flower1:
It is more fun when 3 or more people play though frequently Matthew and I play together and it's still good:thumbsup2
Tomorrow night my sister and her family plus my mum and all of us will be having a Chinese feast along with some adult beverages for the adults and brown lemonade or shloer for the non-drinkers and I can assure you exploding kittens will be even funnier then:rotfl2::goodvibes:thumbsup2:drinking1:scared1:

My kids informed me last night that we need a second deck of exploding kittens cards as now that one of them is married they have more than 5 players wanting to join in. Something to keep in mind if you have groups of 6 or more :rainbow:

We'll see how it goes. I had to give him an I.O.U. because the cards won't be delivered until tomorrow. Fortunately, he is old enough to accept that.

When I got to work, I mentioned the game to my manager and her manager. She said "That is not appropriate for the farm!" and then she googled it and said "That sounds like fun!"

I personally prefer cars against humanity but it may not be appropriate for everyone

I have not played Cards against Humanity, but I hear it is really great.

Not for my 14-year-old, though.

;)

You are so good to do Easter baskets for your boys :)

I'm feeling guilty now as I just bought mine an egg each :sad2:

your welcome home is just like mine every time I go away without my husband. Always dishes, unrinsed, in the sink, over flowing garbage and tons of laundry. I would hate to see how he lives if I die before him.

It was really hard to come up with ideas this year.

We watched "The Outlaw Josey Wales" over the weekend.

:goodvibes

Similar thing happened when I returned from my January visit with Teena. At least nothing smelled this time.

I had prepared a lot of food for them to have while I was gone, and it was all still there when I got home. They went out to eat or did takeout every night. As Nate gets ready to head off to college, it is brutally clear that he is not ready to be out on his own.

Hi! I am just joining in! I am only on page 16. I am a middle school teacher and have been very impressed with your planning and execution of this school trip! I am picking up pointers. No school trips planned but I am reading your report to see if in deed it can be done and not lose one's sanity!

Like you, I often wake at 3 am and find myself unable to go back to sleep.

Unfortunately, the 3 am thing is not unusual for me. I have no problem getting to sleep at night, but staying asleep is my issue. Once I wake up, I can't get back to sleep. So for me, having a long stretch of uninterrupted sleep (11 pm to 3 am) is really all I need to refresh. That, and coffee

:coffee:

:thumbsup2

I also have another thing in common with you and that is that I have never been on Dumbo before and I am almost 52 and my reasons for never riding it are similar to yours. Perhaps on my next trip I will make it on the ride.

I have waited my whole life to fly with elephants!

I don’t know why I have bypassed Dumbo my whole life.

My first trip to the World was when Mark and I were high school seniors and our attention was certainly on other rides at the park. Then during a few trips with Mark after we were married we never gave the elephants much of a thought.

Even when we took the boys on their first trip when they were age 6 and 3, and we had a half-day at MK, I was scared away by the “Dumbo or Die” advice in the Unofficial Guide to Disneyworld.

Subsequent trips with the family have featured the boys as tweens or teens so I haven’t even thought about suggesting spending park time on this attraction.

But I figured that 50 years has been long enough to go without piloting a flying elephant, so it was off to Storybook Circus for me (another first)

Headed here. Eventually.
