Travelocity vs. Loews vs. Universal

I have a question for experienced Darksiders. I couldn't find the answer so I'll ask.

What are advantages booking RPR through Loews as opposed to travel sites like Travelocity? Is booking through Loews the same as booking through Universal too?

For example, I have seen threads on room requests would I able to that If I book through Loews?

you can request a specific room location to be put in your ressie notes when you book.
it is not a guarantee though but they try to honor it.

when you check in, you can always request a different room if the one you are assigned is not what you want.

whether you book direct or through a 3rd party, a reservation is a reservation at the hotels.

i don't use the third party sites as they are not honored for stays with the Loews YouFirst loyalty program.
i have to have a minimum of 10 night stays to keep my platinum status each year.

there have been a few threads that have discussed using third party sites to book.
if you do a search, you should be able to pull them up.
