Just had a fright after doing an internet search for travel insurance on google. I read 8 different policies and all of them have pregnancy as an exclusion! :confused3

Does anyone know of an insurance policy that will include pregnant women?

TIA

Claire

dont most policiies cover you in the first and second tremester? I went and we had insurance when I was 14 weeks pregnant.. bbut I cant remember who we were insured with then.

I thought that too.
I travelled when I was about 20 weeks pregnant and was covered. As long as you've had no complications I'd have thought it was ok.
Best thing to do is probably ring the medical 0800 number (can't think of it off hand) and they can pull up the policies that will cover you.
Just be careful tho as prices vary so vastly. We had them do a search for my DH who has a brain tumour and were quoted anything from £70 (which we took) to £400!!
Good luck

Thanks guys.

It definitely seems most policies exclude you - you really have to read it carefully.

Have now found that M&S is excellent - they will cover almost every pre-exisiting medical condition and pregnancy before the last 8 weeks. It will be £63.13 for ds and I for 14 days - so I think that's the one for me. They have good cover too - nice high limits lol

Just checked at an insurer online and his policy exclusions state:

iv) Will be more than 24 weeks pregnant at the date of
arrival home;

That's with InsureandGo.com who are quoting £49.93 for worldwide cover for a family of 4. (Gold Cover, £10,000,000 medical cover, £2,000,000 personal liability cover)

I'd recommend M&S.
We have an annual family policy and they cover DH with his tumour (it is benign) at no extra cost.
Go for it.

I used insure&go in December. We had bought a policy before I knew I was expecting, so had to buy a separate policy (from a different company)for the pregnancy. My original policy was good fpr everything except the medical, so when I bought the second plicy, I ditched everything possible (flight delay etc. as other policy covered it) & it cost me about £20. I found them by doing a search on "pregnant insurance" & went from there
