has anyone been this time of year..heard alot of bad reports about it!!! We are thinking of changing it to a different month :cheer2:

Hi

We've been for the last 2 years in sept, and yes it does rain some afternoons, although we were there over a week last year without any rain at all. We did get hurricane frances the first year but it only wiped out 1 full day, and central florida was up and running as normal in no time.

There were almost no queues for any rides in any parks we went to, the shops and restaurants were busy but we got in every one we went to. The cost of travelling in sept is also a big plus, we priced for next year and the difference between mid aug and mid sept is 1,000!

If DD wasn't starting big school next week, we would have booked for sep over aug next year.

I wouldn't hesitate to go in sept again.

Lynn

Edit: Just noticed you're in Millom - I'm from Whitehaven!!

Every time we go to Orlando we go in September, we've spent a total of 50 days on holiday at this time and lost two days to a hurricane. Weather is great, still nice and hot, the crowd levels are lower and therefore the parks are a lot easier to navigate, without sacrificing atmosphere. It's also fairly cheap at this time, being outside the school holiday period, can't comment on the 'bad reports' you've heard as I've not seen them, but can't really see an issue. :confused3

Hi. Must agree about September, we visited last year for two weeks and had no rain except on 2 days. The parks were very quiet and didn't have to wait any longer than 5/10 minutes to be seated at any of the local resturants.

We are going again this year on the 15th September so it can't be that bad!

Only been once out of Sept (June never again!!!) the only date to miss is the first weekend as this is an American bank holiday-Labor Day. The weather can be a bit unpredictable though a bit more stable later in the month,we have had 2 complete wash outs & a hurricane last time but apart from that the weather has been great.Crowds are light & expect to walk on most rides although it can get busier at weekends. As you can see we're off in Sept again!!
SD :thumbsup2

We went last year the second two weeks in September and only had rain one day when the hurricane passed by enroute to Texas. A truly GREAT time to go!

We went in September 2002 and we had a great time :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
The humidity had dropped but it was still sunny and there were less queues everywhere so we could take a bit longer to enjoy ourselves. On an afternoon we usually had a shower of rain (for about 20 mins) at 2 or 3 pm which freshened everything up. It's only because our son is now in school full time that we haven't been back in September since then ;) ;)

Another vote for September!!!
Late sept/early oct 2004, lost 3 days to hurricane jeanne but other than that short showers, if anything.
Parks were easily manageable and longest ride wait was around 20 mins on a weekend.
Got ADRs on a Monday for a character breakfast 2 days later....
