Not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but i am travelling from Disney (Orlando) at the end of next week and heading for Washington. I have two weeks to get there and back before ending up back in Orlando, so can anyone suggest "must sees" on the way?

I'll be driving up, so as long as it's on the way, or not too far off the beaten track, then it will be considered. I'm hoping to get to drive through Shanandoah and the Skyline Drive, weather permitting, but apart from Washington I haven't really got any fixed plans.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Definitely plan to make a day at Williamsburg, VA - it's definitely a well-done "US history" tourist area. Not too far off 95.

Most people like Atlanta - I still have fond memories of going to the Coca-Cola Museum there.

Don't spend TOO much time on the Blue Ridge Parkway/Skyline Drive. Driving part of it is nice, but otherwise, it's a bit over-hyped.

Southbound from DC - you could go west on 66 - then down Skyline Drive (maybe do Luray Caverns) to about Afton (Interstate 64) - go to some VA wineries around Charlottesville, see Monticello or the UVA campus, head to Williamsburg, VA - and then back to 95.

Thanks, KWDW. It's appreciated. I need to start to get my itinerary sorted shortly and those ideas will help.
