We will be flying down to WDW in a little over 2 weeks
.
We are bringing my manual wheel chair with us, but I really don't need it at the airport. My problem isn't really with walking, but with standing still(like waiting on lines). We would rent one down there, but I am more comfortable in my own, and then we can attach a bag to the back and hold our ponchos and stuff.
My question is...being that I really don't need the chair in the airport, am I better off checking it with the luggage, or am I better off gate checking it. Has anyone had any experience with DME not collecting the wheelchair with the luggage? I guess if I gate check it, then we would bring it on the bus with us.
Also, if it is checked with the luggage, is it counted as one of the luggage items?
Thanks.
