Hi there,
Well, the original plan was to take a ferry to Calais, explore surrounding areas, pick up some duty free for hubby, then come home - until my 5 year old daughter shouted through to me this morning 'Mum, I forgot to tell you - there's a DisneyLand in France. Can we go?'
So now, I'm on a mission to find out how feasable - both time and moneywise - to plan a different holiday incorporating disney for a day.
Has anyone planned a similar sort of trip? what is the driving distance from the port to disney Land? what are some nearby, reasonably priced hotels? Etc.... I'm sure you get the picture ;)
any help would be much appreciated.
We can't fly as my husband had neurosurgery in Jan and has been advised to wait until at least Oct and we want to go in Aug.
Thanks.
Alison

Hi Alison,

DLP is 200 miles from the Calais area. It takes us just about 3hrs at a steady 80mph with a couple of loo stops and a burger half way.

the best deal for offsite hotels appears to be the holiday inn at dlp booked through holday inns own website room only. don't forget you then need to price in admission tickets.

Thanks Alec,
I've been busy for the last hour and priced up the hol Inn already - £60 a night which is pretty cool.
Just got to get my head round the rest of it now - how long to stay ..... where to stay on the way back to the ferry. I was thinking of maybe 3 days at Hol Inn then driving back to Calais for a couple of nights before heading home.
