traveling with multiples!!

Kritter,

That cover sounds great. I wonder if it would work for us. Our winter cover is safe to walk on. Our kids have stepped on the edge once or twice. Did you say your cover had to be put in when the pool is built? Our pool is 30 years old and kidney shaped, but I'll still look into it. Good plan to close when eating. At my parents house, both times a child ended up in the pool (they were ok) we were getting food on the table :)

HI, I just went through all of our pool information...I think the name of the company is COVERSTAR in lindon, utah who made the cover...www.coverstar.com
It seems they have many different models etc..

We did have ours installed when we built the pool that is what the pool store recomemended....do not know why or if it can be added on...???But check their website they have a free video....or cd you can request....

Good luck and it really is a cool thing to have....

Kristin

Kritter, we have that same cover on our pool. Plus the 6 ft high fence around the pool itself. I love it

Well, I am new here too. My g/b twins will be 3 1/2 next month when we go to WDW. I also have a girl who will be 10 months when we go.
My mom is coming with us, mostly for my littlest one. We will be staying in a rental home w/ pool about 3 miles away.
I am bringing my Sit n Stand stroller (all 3 will fit, as my twins have no butts)but I am not positive about Nicole (my baby). I have a Sit n Stroll (carseat/stroller) as a backup/2nd stroller.

This is my first time travelling with all 3 kids. The last time I went anywhere, my mom & I took M&R to SanDiego when they were 16 months old.

We will be there 9 days......advice suggestions? Do you know what it costs to park your car?
Oh, & what are the thoughts on park tickets? YES or NO to the Park Hopper, or the water parks?

Thanks
Debbie

Leaving in 17 days!!!

Welcome, Deb. :welcome:

Decisions on tickets and such are very individual based on your own family's habits and needs. Most people like Hoppers. We usually do base tickets, but it depends on what time of year you go and what you plan to do for the day. You can leave and come back to that park with base tickets, you just can't hop. It takes a little bit more planning, but we've been enough times that we don't feel the need to see and do it all - now we can concentrate on the things we really enjoy. On AK day - which closes early - we do something like the Boardwalk area that night or just hang out for the evening at the resort. Where you have 9 days, you'll have time to do that.

Our twins were about the same age as yours on our first trip, but I didn't have a little one too. A lot of what you do will be based on how your kids are doing with it all. Don't try to do everything. There will be more trips that you can do things you didn't get to do this time, especially as the kids get older. Plan on lots of down and fun time so the kids don't get overtired and cranky. A pool home will be nice in many ways, more like home than a hotel room. It's great your Mom will be there at times the baby needs to be home, then you can have a little more freedom in the parks with the twins. Great plan! :thumbsup2

As for water parks, your kids may enjoy them. Both have nice kiddie areas. You don't have to put those passes on your tickets, you could just pay out of pocket when and if you feel like going. BTW, we've used Ticket Mania before and got a great deal on tickets via the Mousesaver's newsletter (sign up on Mousesaver's website). They deliver them to you, and in the packet there are a huge amount of brochures and coupons for attractions outside of Disney. Just a thought.

Have a wonderful trip, and be sure to let us know how it was! :wizard:

Pea-n-me,

Oh I would love to hear more about ticket mania,,..Have never bought our tickets there...Do you think you get a savings there????

Oh yes we love the cover as well and think it was well worth the extra money for the pool!!!!

We bought out tickets through the Mousesavers link thorugh Ticketmania also. That was last year. We decided to splurge and buy the ten day non expiration hoppers. The great thing is since we only used 3 days last year we have enough for two more trips there that are already paid for. We also got a bunch of local coupons with our tickets (ours were delivered to our home since we had time).

I would compare the prices with undercovertourist.com. That's where our friends bought theirs from but our savings through ticketmania was a little more than theirs.

kritter, we used Ticket Mania this past Oct for the first time and were very pleased. We were doing a last minute surprise trip on the kids birthday and only needed 2 day tickets because we were going to MNSSHP on one of the days. I was able to get these "rare" 2 day park hoppers (w/ Disney Quest or Pleasure Island admission - which we never had time to use :( - a special only through the Mousesavers newsletter link ) for the same price I would have paid for base tickets from Disney. They don't always have these, I've tried to get them again, it was a good deal. :thumbsup2

thanks sounds like mousesavers is the way to go when checking out the ticket prices.....I always wonered if these other sites to buy tickets was safe????Sounds like they are..thanks I will have to check them out for our upcoming trip....

Kritter - I see a yearly pattern to your trips....
Check the price comparison between park hoppers and annual passes. With the DVC discount, the AP is less than a 10 day no exp PH. AND, if you have an AP you can get the Disney Dining Experience card (if you aren't doing DDP) and save 20% on most table service restaurants (inc. character meals). AND, if you like to go to WDW every year (as we do) you can get 2 trips out of the AP if you go within the 365 days (such as Oct 06 and Sept 07). We always go at Easter now since that's when our kids get their spring break and since Easter next year is earlier than Easter this year we can us our AP for both. We activated them on the first day of our trip this year which was April 17th and next year the last day of our trip will be April 15th. AND, the expiration on my DDE card is April '07 so I don't even have to renew that card for next year. :teeth:

Only drawback would be that the APs are only good for 365 days while the PHs with no exp are good forever - in case a trip had to be postponed or cancelled. But, OTOH, you can buy the AP vouchers and the 365 days doesn't start until the day you actually activate them.

BTW, this is the logic I used to convince my DH that we should get APs. ;)
Now I'm trying to convince him that as long as we have the APs already, I've always wanted to see WDW at Christmastime.....

Yes we do go once a year...before kids it was mulitple tiems a year..But airfare now is soo outragous...I will have to look into the Ap...WHen we go we usually stay ten plus days....Thanks for the advice I am going to look into it.....

Good morning all! :sunny:

I know that many of us here have gone through infertility treatment/assistive reproductive technology procedures and have shared some of those thoughts here before. There is a poster on the Community Board who is also going through treatment right now, and could use a little Pixie Dust if anyone has some to spare. I am going to invite her over to say hello. If you could say hello and let her know she's not alone in this, it would be much appreciated. :grouphug:

Thank you so much!! :wizard:

Ok, I'll start. ;)

I went through infertility treatment back in the mid 90's. I've noticed from discussions on this board how things have changed in some ways for the better since then, thankfully. For instance, I felt pretty isolated with very few to discuss my situation with who understood what I was going through. It's nice people can come here to discuss it with others who understand if they so choose.

Anyone else? :confused3

Although we didn't use fertility treatments to conceive it was discussed at one point and time. We tried for 3 years after our first one to have another and my ob/gyn talked about the use of clomid and actually gave me a prescription for it that I didn't fill. My DH said that he didn't want to take the chance of having more than one at one time (ROTFLMAO) and I respected that. So we just accepted that fact that we were only going to have one. About the time that I got rid of all of our baby items is when I realized that I was expecting. When I went to the doctor at 10weeks I was already in maternity clothes. Ultrasound at 14 confirmed that we were having twins. I thought Kevin was going to pass out when they told him.

Anyways.....pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: to those who need it. May you be blessed soon in your life.

I have identical twins aged 5 Niamh and Caitlyn and 2 other children Connor 11 and finlay 9.

I am in UK

Kirsty

Hi everyone. I am brand new here. We have boy/girl twins who will be 17 this summer. We are going to Orlando for the very first time in just a few weeks. My husband has family in California so we have been to Disneyland several times. It's really been fun reading about young twins; brings back a lot of memories. Now we're all about driving, dating and the ACT!

WElcome and so nice that you can share some stories with us about older twins....can not wait to hear all about your twins...welcome :cheer2: :cheer2:
