Hi, I am planning a trip for April 2016. There will hopefully be between 15 - 19 of us going. I was wondering if anyone has any tips or suggestions on things I should know about planning and traveling with such a large group.

Thanks

We have gone with 12 before and the best thing we did was to all wear matching t-shirts each day. Besides being fun, it made it super easy to find each other. I saw my mother-in-law exiting the park through the tunnel under the railroad tracks when I was three blocks up Main Street.

Each of us had blue, turquoise and green shirts that stood out in a crowd. I had each kid pick their favorite Disney character and drew/traced them as a group, then added a title below the picture and had them printed on the shirts in black and white by a local tshirt/printing shop. The adults wore the same colors as the kids, but without the artwork. The kids loved their shirts (and still wear them) and we got lots of great comments. No copyright problems printing them because I drew the artwork.

We took a group of 10 once.

Try and book a place where you can all be at least in the same hallway of the hotel. Or else try and rent a house of some kind so you can all stay together.

As far as in the park... it's probably going to be nearly impossible to travel together all the time. You'll all naturally want to do and see different things. Try and plan meeting points and times so you can touch base through out the day :)

Everytime we've been to Disneyland we've traveled as a big group..it's always me, dh and our kids, Sister and her kids, brother and his kids...we always stay together the whole day. The kids love riding rides with their cousins and are really good about taking turns with each other. We always do matching shirts, but only for one day since there's so many of us. It also helps that all of our kids are close to the same age and that we all live next door to each other, so they are naturally close to each other and get along well.

We have lost a couple of kids in the parks as well, because we were too spread out as we were walking around. But, the kids know how to find a real CM and what to do. We also have pictures each morning of what everyone is wearing in case a kid gets lost.

Our kids are all older teens now and there's nothing better to me than when we are sitting together at a family BBQ, Thanksgiving or whatever and having the kids recall all the good times they've had with their cousins on vacations. We really never travel with just our kids...we love being with our family.

Have a blast, it's lots of work but soooo worth it, in my opinion.

We are a large extended family as well. I second the matching shirts! We wear the same shirts every day and it really does help when you are trying to keep your group together or looking for someone.

I would saw with a group that size is that you probably won't find a restaurant to accommodate all of you at the same table. We have had to split tables @ Rainforest before.

We normally rent a house while in DL so we are able to use the kitchen for breakfasts & packing lunches. Sometimes we go back to the house for dinner too.

Make sure you take lots of group photos! Those are always fun to look back on. Have a fun trip!
