Traveling with Grandparents. Don't know where to stay!

I agree that the WL deluxe room would be a good option. The price may not be much more than the price of 2 rooms at a moderate. And, as mentioned, the lounge food would suffice for breakfast & possibly dinner as well(it is sufficient for our family's dinner anyway). Also free drinks are provided round the clock!
Seven of us stayed in a deluxe room recently & the living area is small when the couch bed is down, but the bedroom is completely closed off & I don't think you'd hear the snoring.
Of your other choices, I would definitely choose POFQ. Great pools, beautiful grounds, & carriage rides!

We always take mom with us to Disney and get two moderate rooms. Last time we had connecting rooms, which was nice as we could leave the door open for a larger space or close it for a little privacy. We've considered other arrangements, but honestly I think we'd drive each other crazy without a little more separation.

I would book two room at CSR or POFQ and make connecting rooms my only request. WE have 2 booked rooms with kids before and they love the open door policy, so for us it was a good idea. I know people suggest not requesting this because Dad snores, but honestly, if you are assigned a room with a connecting door, and your neighbor snores, are you better off because the snorer is a stranger? If Iam going to listen to someone snore I prefer to be inconvenienced by my Dad and not a random stranger.

The deluxe WL room was a little over 800.00 ouch! POFQ might be the way to go!

We really like CSR, the renovated rooms are fantastic! I do not find the resort too large. The multiple bus stops are super quick and easy. Fantastic bus service, better than some of the deluxe resorts I have stayed at!

My mother and step-father stayed at POFQ and loved how compact it was. It was great for grandparents, parents and kids. They liked the buses but most of all they liked the short walk to anywhere. They did not get a discount as they went in Oct, but they were ok with the price.

I have not stayed at CBR, so no personal experience there. My sister stayed there prior to construction. She liked the theme. She did not like the bus transportation (crowded and took a long time to get going) the food court and the size of the resort.
The Junior suite at CSR looks like a nice option. Do you know if those have been renovated as well? Thanks!

A one bedroom at OKW is my favorite accommodation at Disney with separate sleeping spaces. Bring a white noise machine and you won’t hear your dad. Ha. Also in terms of distance from parks, OKW is right next door to POFQ. So you’d be the same distance as you’d be from that resort.

Depending on the time of year you’re going, it may be cheaper to get a cash reservation through Disney for a one bed at OKW. Last June it was a few hundred dollars less to pay cash there with a room only discount than it would have been to rent points. It was also only $30 per night more than an AoA suite. And it’s 400 sq ft larger than an AoA suite.

How are the air conditioners at POFQ? Do they do that annoying thing where they turn on and off throughout the night?
This is not specific to POFQ, but it is how air conditioners operate in general. When they reach the temperature they are set to reach, they turn off. When it gets hotter by a certain amount, they turn back on until they again reach the temperature they are set to reach. This is the nature of air conditioners, and not something to blame POFQ for. :)

I certainly see your point, but the OP knows for sure that dad snores, whereas a random stranger might or might not snore, so if I were in this situation, I might take the gamble on the stranger as a next door neighbor, so there would at least be a chance that they don't snore. On the other hand, when I've stayed at hotels, it's been very rare that I've heard any snoring from another room, even when there happened to be connecting doors. Most of the disturbing noise has been from strangers standing outside my front door and talking, or families walking by with the kids talking loudly. So I'm not sure that one would hear snoring through a set of connecting doors anyway.

I agree, the snoring from a neighboring room is not likely a problem, so if I was booking two rooms, and wanted connecting rooms as a compromise to all staying together, I woudl take that chance.

I vote for FW cabins - stayed there many times with my daughter, husband, sister and parents. The back bedroom would be perfect for you and your daughter (in bunk bed), and your folks can have the living room pull-out couch. The bedroom is back behind a door, down the hall from the living room, kitchen, and bathroom, so it is faaar from the sleeper sofa - no way you'd hear your dad with the bedroom door closed, especially if you have the AC on. The grown-ups can stay up in the living room, or on the deck, while your kid goes to sleep. As far as travel time to the parks, taking the boat to Magic Kingdom is a breeze! As a previous poster mentioned, you do have to take the internal bus system to get to the boat, unless you rent a golf cart, which can be fun to tool around the resort, go to the pool, etc. It is an added expense. One downside to FW cabin is the one bathroom, but with only three adults and a child, it shouldn't be too bad. We had to work on the timing a little with four adults and one adult son-in-law sharing - my mom didn't necessarily want to brush her teeth while my husband was showering! But it will just be your family, so shouldn't be too bad!

If we had a car would it be quicker to get do the parks?

I presume you mean from Fort Wilderness. If you had a car, it would be quicker to get to all the parks except Magic Kingdom. For that one, you'd be better off taking the boat from Fort Wilderness.

Just heard about a study on white noise machines and it appears you can damage brain cells with these.

Oh no! I’ll have to look it up. My 20 month old has been using once since birth bc...her older brother is loud and our house is small. Generally the rest of us only use one when we travel and need to keep the kids from waking each other.

I will say that my 9 year old nephew is a genius and has also used one since birth bc he lives in Manhattan and well, also, noise...

Any chance I could get a corner king bed room with connecting door to a room with 2 queens? Are the king beds more expensive?
We’ve stayed at POR and had this configuration for connecting rooms. Not sure if this is available at POFQ or not. I don’t recall the king bed being much more expensive than the two queens.

I realize your looking for advice and I have read the entire thread. Your getting opinions that are putting you all over the map. Lets look at this from a mans perspective
as everyone that has responded is a woman. Please no haters just trying to give a different view. Lets start with the budget as you've been given opinions and the response
is "not in the budget". To better serve you how much are you willing to spend on a resort? Knowing this everyone can give an honest opinion that truly would fit your needs.
A resort that someone likes doesn't mean your going to like it and the worst thing to do is spend money in Disney and dislike the resort your staying in. I checked your list of resorts
you stayed at and you have progressed up not down over the years. You even list SSR in Feb 2019 but are thinking about a moderate for June. The last time you stayed moderate was
over 22 years ago. What you remember in a moderate no matter what renovations have been done are still moderate. Again lets start with budget and go from there.

Well budget is no more than 300 per room per night if 2 rooms. I just got a good quote for old key west studios. 288.00 per studio and we could request to be next to each other. If we are looking at the cabin, that is in our budget. When I go with DD and DH, DH is not a dawn to dusk parks person, but my parents are, so going with my parents and my daughter will be more.time.in parks with maybe one day off. Afternoon breaks at the pool. With DH we usually do a few days at the parks and more days at the pool as it is winter and we just want a break from VT weather and fun and sun. So.the trip with my parents will be up to the parks at opening!
