Hi,
When traveling on a plane where do you put your valueable souvenirs???Last time my family went i wanted to purchase one of the big water globes and a disney figurine but i didn't know how i would them home without it breaking....Thanks

I have fragile or larger purchases shipped directly from the shop to my home. Its not that expensive and IMHO very much worth it.

I either have fragile items shipped directly from the shop to my house or I give up some carry on space and take the item as a carry on and then guard it with my life. :p

Hi,
How much does it cost for them to ship it to home???I know that it probably wont be to western New York but just so i can get some sort of idea....Also how long does it take to get there, i would rather the parcel not get there before me???Thanks again...

It's based on how much you spend, I think the max you will pay on shipping is like $17, so say you are DTD and do some shopping then head to World of Disney and do a bunch and that's where you find your snowglobe, they can and will ship all your purchases home for that fixed price. The only thing is you just won't pay taxes on the items that you purchased in the store you are shipping from. Oh and they won't ship food items.

Something that large & fragile I would ship home vs try to lug it safely on a plane. Youll have enough stuff to carry and with the way security is any more you might have to open up the box. With all the packing stuff inside, you might not get it back in place just right so it closes. Plus youd have to put it in the overhead bin and what if someone comes along and tosses in a heavy bag? Or if you board late and the bin space is full-then it has to be checked. No thanks! Also, if you ship it and it breaks, you should get a replacement for free. That wont happen if you carry it home!

Once we found out about shipping souvenirs home, almost everything goes that way. It is just slightly more than the tax (you won't pay tax if you ship it, so it helps defray the shipping cost). The peace of mind was well worth it. We have shipped christmas ornaments and other breakables with no problem. We have also shipped our stuff from the big Disney store in Downtown Disney. We only keep with us the small non-breakable things-mostly what we buy in the smaller stores, like T-shirts, books, etc if we are only buying one or two things.

Do you know if they are somehow able to organize all your "for shipping" purchases at all the stores so that they will all be shipped together? Or did you mean that you buy things (and bring them with you as you continue shopping) and then in the last store you put all your purchases together to ship together? Thanks!

I read that they will do that for you at your resort. Someone posted that you have to have your reciepts, and they will gather everything up, and put it all together. Same fees apply. When we went, all I had shipped back was my snowglobe, and a statue. I can't remember how much, but I'm thinking around $15. Definately worth it. I plan on shipping more back this time.
