Traveling with a Baby...

I will be traveling soon via American Airlines. I will have a 11 month old baby with me. I know I can one 8 oz bottle, but can I also take her can of powdered milk in my carry on? . Should it be an unopened can? Can I make a bowl of cereal w/applesauce with a lid? Thanks-

You can take pretty much whatever you need for an infant. Keep it separate, and declare it before you go through the metal detectors. They will inspect it for you.

We started traveling with our daughter when she was 11 months. Never had a problem bringing water for formula, juice, baby food....all that stuff.

You can take reasonable amounts of baby formula or breast milk, juice and baby food. As for water to mix powdered formula well that is a crap shoot, some people have had theirs confiscated and some have been allowed to take it to mix the formula. The TSA website does not include water and it will depend on the airport and the agents if I were you I would bring more than one bottle in case your flight is delayed.

Thank you guys so much. I started packing today and I got a little nervous. With us having a 9 am flight I was hoping while we wait I could feed her a bowl of cereal or something and save the bottle for the flight. She's a busy body and food will likely keep her still (for a minutes at least).
