Traveling w/ Pins

I know it has been asked before, but I just wanted to know the most recent experiences traveling with pins on planes. We are leaving for WDW on Thursday morning and we want to take pins from Newark, NJ to Orlando, FL and have no clue what is going on with airport security.

I usually put mine in the suitcase, but accidentally left a couple in my handluggage recently. Nothing was said about them (although they did make me leave behind the suncream I had forgotten to transfer).

I don't put them in the suitcase, but then my pins are worth $$$. I have them in a carryon which I leave open and with my pin vest. Never had a problem.
