Traveling Turkeys Part 2 11/22/08

We just picked up Tim's camera. They found it under the booth at the restaurant! The only things missing now are my gold cladaugh ring and my diamond earring. I don't think I'll ever see either of those again.
I called AAA today and booked 8 days at WDW from June 23rd to the 30th. I haven't told Tim yet. Maybe I'll surprise him with it for Christmas!:santa:

Ken - If the Stillers play Tampa Bay in the Super Bowl, we'll meet in the middle (N.Carolina?) and have a party!

It wasn't any easier getting up and coming to work today than it was yesterday!
I watched the video this morning of the Wonder and Magic at CC. What a great time that was. And Shay, the photos you posted of the 2 ships together, I found myself in them taking photos too! I was by the boat/jet ski area!
I checked out rates from Baltimore for RCCL and Celebrity ships. I don't know if I'm missing something but I didn't find any sailings that were much cheaper than DCL. Am I doing something wrong? I keep hearing they are substantially less.
I just paid the deposit and confirmed our ressie for WDW June 23. I hope you Fla. residents can come over at some point and hook up with us for a mini reunion! Michelle - I know you're very close!
I still need to call DCL about the picture frames. I forgot to yesterday.
Have a great day everyone.
You still need to make good choices!
Judy

Hi everyone! We were travelling with family and friends so we were super busy and didn't make the meet but LOVED being a part of the FE exchange. We loved getting surprises every day and messages on our dry-erase board! Loved the time and thought put into everything. We had so much stuff we shared with our other cruisemates and brought stuff home for some friends who had to cancel! You all were very creative and generous - thank you so much!!

Megan & family !

Judy I know for this January RCCL out of Florida has some great rates.....my neighbor was going to do DCL and did RCCL yesterday.

We will be around in june so have a great time at WDW just bring your little flag and the rest of us can follow you around like a Brazillian tour group

Anyone else still rocking? I almost fell over in the shower this morning. When is this going to end? :confused3

Michelle - You are too funny! I'll get a lime green flag and put a turkey on it!

Sandy - I wish I was still rockin!!! Unfortunately I'm upright and sober!!:lmao:

Lora - I didn't get any photos of the characters at the party. One day outside of Shutters I saw Mickey and Pluto and I asked Mickey why he's allowed to bring his dog on board and I'm not. His "handler" said it's because Pluto has a little dog house and he stays in there. Then Pluto threw a ball at me and I threw it back. The "handler" quickly escorted them both away from me. I guess she didn't like my question!
I called DCL and AKL lost and founds today. They're looking for everything I lost and will sent it all to me if they find anything.:woohoo:

Wasn't it Cheysdad who was doing the vow renewel in GC? How did it go? Did the delay in getting to GC and then the delay in tendering in cause a problem? I hope it was great!

I just made a real Thanksgiving dinner. Thanksgiving dinner is Dh's favorite and he was disappointed with his meal on the ship. The kids and I went with non traditional choices. I had lobster and the rocky road sundae for dessert! So, I too was wishing for the real thing. There's nothing like homemade gravy and pumpkin pie (not together).

Shay, I'm still swaying, but it's better today than yesterday. Hopefully by tomorrow it will be gone.

You might have to come to Tampa . . . Superbowl is here this year. How often does a team get the "home field advantage" in the superbowl? That would be awesome!

Did anybody end up with some good pics of the Magic and Wonder at CC? I tried and did not have much luck.

If the Stillers/Bucs are the SuperBowl in Tampa this year I may have to come down just to wear the Black and Gold! Maybe Teresa will join me!
I'll let you know if my pics of both ships are any good when I pick them up. Remember I am so old school I still use film! They'll be done getting processed on Thursday.
It's brutal up here, 29º and snowing. I pretend I'm walking the street in Cozumel while I jump up and down to keep warm at the bus stop every morning!:yay:
Susan - I am so enjoying the CD! Tim loves it too, especially the cha cha slide - he kept singing it on the boat and he laughed and laughed when I played it for him! :rotfl: I forgot all about the Hamster song and it makes me smile!:)

Hey guys,

I don't kno wif I mentioned this, but we lost Melinda's suitcase. It was left at the port. They mailed it to us yeaterday.

MORE BAD STUFF ON OUR END---We didn't share this with anyone because we didn't want Mackenzie to overhear us, and we didn't want to spoil anyones time. Bob lost his vision in both eyes on the train on the way down to Orlando. Thru out the week, he would have periods that would be better than others, but none the less, he had a lot of trouble seeing. I called his retinologist yesterday and we had an appointment this morning. He is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday. It is 50/50 at this point as to how it will turn out. Please keep us in your prayers.

Got the photos and went thru and numbered them to keep them in order. Can't wait to start scrapping.

Lora

The vow renewal went off perfectly! Disney was extremely accomodating to Cheysdad and the wedding party by allowing them first seating on the first tender out. We were an hour late but everything worked out perfectly because of how fast Disney responded.

Sandy..I'm still swaying. I keep telling the teacher that I work with that I'm still swaying from the ship so that she doesn't think i've developed a drinking habit.

Lora..good luck to your hubby. I hope everything turns out ok.

Is there anyway I can get a copy of this wonderful cd everyone is talking about. I couldn't participate in the FE because of everything for this weekend's Bat Mitzvah extravaganda. We did put up a FE to do with a couple of families but I couldn't do much more. My children were disappointed that there was only "air" in theirs..but I did explain to them why and told them we would definitely do it next time. Thank you to those who did put items in ours.
We had fun walking around the ship looking at all the others!! Great job folks!!!

I have pictures of the ships...I'll have to email them to Sandy to post for you all.

We are making our turkey dinner this weekend, we were a little bummed with the Thanksgiving dinner too. On Thursday I saw people eating turkey for lunch at Lumiere's (of course AFTER we already ate lunch!). It looked more traditional although I didn't get a very good look at it.

Lora, I am glad they are mailing Melinda's suitcase. Tell Bob we'll be thinking of him and praying the surgery is successful.

Lora - You and Bob will be in our thoughts and our prayers. Please let us know how he is doing.
It's 24º here with a windchill factor of 12º. Too cold for me!

Have a great day!
Make good choices.
Be kind!

Suzanne, I have one. I will make you a copy.

Judy, if the Steelers make it to the Super Bowl I will definately go with you.
Good luck getting all your belongings back.

Lora, I will keep Bob in our prayers. Hope everything works out well.

Lora - I hope everything turns out well for your husband. When I was younger, one of my favorite movies was "Wild hearts can't be broken". It was about a girl that lost her sight and was told that she couldn't do the things she loved to do anymore because she was blind. She didn't let that stop her though. I'm very fortunate to have my health, but you never know what life will throw your way. In the end, it's not usually as bad as we think it will be. All of life's experiences, the good and the bad, help us to learn and grow and make us who we are. Still, nobody wants the bad experiences. Your family will be in my prayers, and I wish you all the best.

Anyone else still rocking? I almost fell over in the shower this morning. When is this going to end? :confused3

I always rock! :cool1: Actually, I am totally with you on this one. I've been on little boats before and never had a problem. The Magic was the first BIG boat I had ever been on, and it affected me way more than I anticipated! I was on Bonine the first four days, and I couldn't walk in a strait line on *or* off the boat the whole week! Maybe it was the Pina CoLAVAs and Bahama Mamas, but really I didn't drink that much!

I finally sorted through all 500 pictures we took, and posted the top 100 on my flickr album: http://www.flickr.com/photos/chezpixelpixie/sets/72157610493091497/

I am so excited about having actually bought into the vacation club. I already have my DVC points planned out for the next few years!
  • We're going to California in May for DD's birthday and a mini family reunion, and now at least we won't have to worry about lodging!
  • Then we're doing another cruise in 2010. Hopefully we'll be on the Baltic cruise, but if we can't afford to have a really great time on it, then we'll be back for maybe an Eastern this time.
  • Then in 2012 we have a big trip to the Magic Kingdom planned. BIG trip. We're going to be staying club level at AK so that we can do the sunrise safari. My dad and I are going to get our SCUBA cert, and DD will get the jr scuba cert so that we can do the reef dive in Epcot. My dad and I are going to do the Richard Petty driving class. DD and I are going to do the surfing lessons at Typhoon Lagoon. We're going to be doing all of these things ON TOP OF all the regular stuff.
  • The next cruise after that will probably have to be 2014, but we'll see how we can finagle the points and maybe do a 4 day in 2013.
Basically, we've (I've) decided that every-other vacation will be a cruise. It's going to be the best!

I hope everyone has a magickal day!!!:tinker:

I keep getting waves but less and less.

Judy - I'd love to meet you, but our park tickets aren't good in June. We have to start paying for a 4th pass for the little one next year, so we're sticking with seasonal passes that blackout almost all of Summer.

Lora - I'm sorry to hear about Bob's vision. I hope everything works out for you.

Lora- sorry to hear about Bob. We will be keeping him in our prayers. :grouphug: Glad to hear that you got the suitcase back.

The room continues to move a little but not as bad as when we were on the Wonder in 2006. We had 13ft seas and the boat was a rocking! I was landsick for days after that.

Bought a turkey breast yesterday and am looking forward to a traditional dinner with all the fixings and pie this weekend. I am hoping once I get past that I will be more receptive to this whole Christmas thing. Trying to put up the decorations and get ready, but still dreaming about the Caribbean so not much getting done.

Btw, did anyone see the posts about the Wonder on Sunday the day after we got back? It broke loose from its moorings in PC due to bad weather. There is a thread w/pictures including the captain in shorts and no shoes. We really got an extraordinary break in the weather department.

Chuck:cool1:
