Hi, Judy! My master's is in Instructional Design and Technology. I just switched to a technology position this school year. Prior to that, I had taught third grade for fourteen years. I love my new job, but I want to be done with my master's! It's time consuming, and I can't wait to go on this trip and not have to think about it once!:thumbsup2

I really, really wish I had stayed an art ed major. I want summers off too! It's hard living with a teacher with summers off when you have to work. My DH told me when we were in college that I was a fool for switching majors. He was so right! What do you do with a degree in art history? Why, you work in social services!:dance3:

Ken - That hits home - 2 more weekends to get ready. I have to drink whatever Susan is drinking and get on the ball!

We were on the Magic for spring break and the wonder this summer and both times i brought on the cooler filled with water and gatorade - just no ice allowed.

déjà vu

Hi all, we had a great Halloween weekend. We didn't have a lot of trick or treaters, but our girls did the neighborhood loop and thought it was great. We were out early Saturday on the soccer field with both of the younger girls scoring goals in their games :cheer2: The oldest was off this week but will have her last game next Saturday. As much as I love watching them play I will definitely be ready for our winter break from Saturday soccer games!! Saturday afternoon was so nice we went out to a small amusement park south of town and had a blast riding rides spending some down time as a family. Today was DH's birthday so we took him out to his favorite Mexian restaurant after church. Then he got to go grocery shopping with me...what a treat!

The kids are off school tomorrow for an in-service day. Unfortunately since I work at the school I have to go in for at least half a day. Since the principal will be gone to a conference, I've heard rumors that most of the teachers will not be returning after lunch.:cool1: Sounds like a plan to me!!
Have a great week,
Lorie
Happy Birthday Ray!

DS is off school for an in-service day on Friday. I think we'll go to the beach if the weather's nice. We both look like ghosts.

I don't know what in the world got in to me yesterday! I ended up making homemade chicken and noodles and brownies and had my best friend and in-laws over for supper last night too. I hope I keep this energy burst that I've suddenly gotten!:worship: I'm not drinking anything though because I'm saving that for the cruise.;)

Wow! That sounds delicious! We all sat around during the dinner hour watching the DCL dvd. When it was through, my DD's watched it again. Sounds like we all had cruise fever this weekend! Off to pack away the Halloween decorations and get cracking on the count down list....
Suzanne

Oh my goodness!!! I can't believe how fast this is coming at us!! I still have so much to do between the cruise and our party. THis weekend I was extremely productive. DD and I had a hair run through...her's looked incredible!! This weekend I was able to crank out 13 centerpieces!!! Only 4 more to go!!! I should be done by tomorrow!! Didn't think this would be done until next week!!!

Congratulations on all your hard work Susan!!!

Good luck tonight Teresa!!

Going back to the issue of bringing beverages onboard, if you want to bring them, you should carry them on like we do in a softsided cooler. If you try to ship or check beverages, they likely will not make it to your stateroom.

DH and I are going out for dinner tonight - just to our favorite watering hole/restaurant - where I have all intentions of getting him to participate in some minor planning. We need to plan our day at AKL prior to MVMCP and some down time on the cruise. He's put it off as long as he can!

Suzanne - What are you up to?

Yeah, Suzanne... Whatcha doin'?

Hey, does anyone know where I can find the latest Navigators (preferably PDF).

The week after we come back from our trip my daughter will be celebrating her Bat Mitzvah. So we're throwing a party for approx 200 people! Yes I'm a bit crazy for doing this but that's why we booked this trip...to get the family together to celebrate this wonderful time in her life and to be thankful for all that we have.

Unfortunately, family members had to withdraw from our trip. But we're still going to have a great time!

So that's why I didn't sign up for the fish extenders...even though I'm regretting it now..I just have no time to do the gifts that I would want to do. Planning for this cruise...and the Bat Mitzvah and been keeping me quite busy!! So needless to say..I'll be ready for this trip when it comes!!!

You sound really busy! That's great to have something as wonderful as a Bat Mitzvah to look forward to when you get home.

Congratulations for your daughter and a big thank you for the reminder that in the midst of this wonderful vacation we have the chance to remember all that we are thankful for. So as our question of the day how about: What are you thankful for this year?

I'll start...I'm very thankful for the 20 years of friendship we'll be celebrating with Joan and Craig on this trip. Also for the blessing of three beautiful, healthy girls and a husband who still loves me warts and all after 23 years of marriage! Finally, that no matter the outcome in tomorrow's election we are so fortunate to live in our nation of freedom every day!

Does that get us started in the Thanksgiving mood??

Ok, Chuck, since you seem to be the resident bringing drinks on board expert (is that why Ice is in your name?), can you use that fake ice in the soft side cooler? Cause then it may help the cooler in the room actually keep things cool. I absolutely hate Coke and am trying to find a way to bring my supply of Diet Pepsi's with me.

Anyone have a recommendation of a rolling soft side cooler? The ones I've seen at Target are all the hard version.

A few years ago I wasn't thankful for much....now I'm thankful for everything and everyone that I have.

We use "ice" b/c our last name is Eiss, pronounced "ice".

I would not play w/bringing any form of ice onboard...when you get to security, I have had no problems with the cooler, but they repeatedly ask to make sure there is no ice..even some of that fake stuff causes condensation.

As to where we found it, we got ours at Costco a couple years ago...it has a short handle and is on wheels. That said, I have seen them at other big box stores and I would suggest checking any major sporting goods chain as well.

As to the Bat Mitzvah, Our Bar Mitzvah is 4 years away, but we get the date next year and have to start the booking process 3 years in advance..

Chuck:cool1:

Oh and I am just the opposite...i greatly prefer my caffeine free diet coke over pepsi
