Traveling Turkeys Part 2 11/22/08

Sandy thank you for posting the door signs again.

Also, our documents arrived today.:cool1: Our room number has changed, it is now 2560. I contacted my TA and she said that maintenance was doing some work in my original room and that was the reason for the change. It's only 3 doors down from my original room, no big deal. Just wanted to let you all know so you can change it on the FE list. Don't want to miss out on our goodies.:)

Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween and Ken enjoy your Halloween party!

Documents ah . . . I can almost smell the salt air. I never get so excited about a contract! Thats good they decided to move you out of a room they knew had problems! Better to find out now than while you are in it.

Thanks for the encouragement on the party!!:wizard: THe luck I really need is for tomorrow mornings 8:00 soccer game:sick:

I'm getting some practice for pirate night. DH and I like to dress up when we take the kids out, so we're trying out our pirate gear. Though I'm not wearing the boots. This is more of the beach wrecked pirate in a pair of croc sandals. Hope everyone has a great Halloween with lots of candy.

Should be a PERFECT night weather wise. Its supposed to be around 60 - 65 up here.

The bank here said 72 degrees. It was almost hot this afternoon at our Halloween parade at school, but I'm not complaining!;)

I did a very nice thing for a guy at work. He is taking his family on a 7 day Disney Cruise over President's week next year. He is booked in a cat 4. I told him about the $99 second cruise deal, he called Disney, and they said "no problem" and added it to his ressie. He now gets a 3-day cruise in a cat 4 for $99/person for his family.

Then I told him he could get a cabin for each paying member from the Feb cruise and he says "I'll treat my whole family to a cruise!". All I said in a small timid voice was..."I like to cruise"....if only!

It was perfect weather this evening for trick or treating. I am hoping it is the same for our adult Halloween party we are going to tomorrow. Last week for the kiddie version it rained so much we could not be in the backyard at all.

Now I just need to find a sitter since mine called this afternoon and she has been so sick all week. The doctor told her she could return to school on Monday, but she does not want to get my daughter sick before our vacation so now I am sitterless for now

Off to work on grading and cruise signs.

Well, the weather did not cooperate tonight for trick or treating! :sad2: It rained the entire time that Mason was outside! :sad2: It did not damper Mason's spirits though. He still had fun!! :wizard:

Michelle-

Wish we could help you out. We would love to sit for Jessica!! princess:

I must have been hiding under a rock! What is the $99 second cruise deal?

Wow sorry you guys did not have good weather. And that is so sweet.....i could Fed Ex her your way. Just Kidding....we have a few options so we will be fine.

KEN - You have got to be kidding! You have an 8am soccer game? Good luck. A straight up high test Coke and a Hershey bar will sometimes help a hangover. It can also make you hurl.:headache:

Yes. Do tell. What is this $99.00 cruise?

Trick or Treat was very nice here. The weather was beautiful - 60 degrees and clear skies. We had a big party on the street. It's still going on with a big bon fire but I was too tired to go on. I'm going to try (tomorrow) to post a pic of DH and DGS as Donald Ducks.:donald:

I'm picking up our cruise docs tomorrow and buying the rest of the things I need to pack. Hopefully Linda will be able to join me!

Talk to everyone tomorrow! (when we'll be another day closer!)

ChaosControl--if you sail during Jan.-Feb. and certain sailings in March on either a 4 or 7 night cruise, you can book another 3 day cruise in the same category you cruise in initially for $99 per person. I can't remember the exact dates of the 3 night cruise, but I think the $99 is for sailings next fall. There's a thread on it at the top of the discussion forums for the DIS. Great deal--too bad I can't turn around and do another cruise right away!;)

I'm not sure I ever told everyone what we're doing with all of our airline credits from Southwest. We ended up getting about $700 in credit from our airfare dropping in price since we initially booked, so DH and I are going to Vegas in December and are taking another couple with us. We're excited about it!:cool1: This will be our first real trip without the kids. It will be weird but good.

Our trick or treating went well too. It was low 70's with a breeze. The kids took in a great haul that we are now going through to make sure it's all safe. We kept seeing groups of adults on their driveway, drink in hand as they handed out candy. Some neighbors even get in one driveway and have a big party. The kids just walk through the party and get candy from each family. I wanted to go through their buffet line. I asked my friends when we get to do that. They said since I have a 2 year old, it'll be a while. Darn.

My pirate costume was semi comfortable. I think it'll need work before the cruise.

Well we may have all been out w/umbrellas, but we still had over 100 kids come by.

We had a great night for trick-or-treating here in Michigan. It felt more like Tennessee then Michigan! Caden got TONS of candy. (Too bad he is allergic to dairy. More Snickers for Mom.) I also have to be very careful about sugar with him. It turns him into Mr. Hyde! I think I saw his head spin once after an oreo cookie....

Bed time was rough, though it had nothing to do with candy or halloween. Caden dropped a large glass full of water (the heavy glasses like you would find in a restaurant) on his foot. He dropped to the floor crying like his foot had been cut off :guilty:. It must have got his big toe pretty good. He cried unconsolably for 2 hours until he cried himself to sleep.

This morning he feels better, but I think he is going to lose the toenail. :sad1:

20 Days until we're on board and we hear that beautiful horn sound!!!

I trust everyone is down from their sugar high. My neighbors partied until 2am. I thought about going back out but it was colder by then and I wasn't up for getting dressed.

I'm off to get supplies and cruise docs.:drive:
Have a great day. Make good choices!
Judy:dance3:

we only had about 15 kids. I wish we had 100!! Halloween is my favorite holiday I love seeing all the kids dressed up

My dad comes to our house to hand out candy because we get more than his house. But he said we only had about 15 this year. We had 2 more groups after we got back. You know the ones, the teens dressed up as teens and carrying pillow cases. We gave each a bit and emptied the bowl in the one dressed up then turned off the lights. That was around 9:30.

Wow, we are so close! :cheer2:

There will be 60 of us wearing lime green shirts (maybe 59, DH still hasn't seen the design  ). If you want to see the design, it is posted on the group site (thanks Stacie!).:thumbsup2

Today I am heading to the shop to watch them make the screens. I am going to order a few extra shirts but if you know you want shirts then it would be best to PM me as soon as possible so I can include yours in the initial order and get it to you in time for the cruise. Otherwise due to the time crunch I can always get them to you at port.

Ok, I am feeling the panic setting in- I am going to get my FE things today (late, hence the panic!!!) Can someone help me with a couple of questions-

-Do you give one gift per stateroom for the adults or one to each adult (I am leaning towards one per adult, which leads to the next question...)

-Do we know how many ADULTS are participating in the FE exchange? I printed out the FE list and know the number of staterooms and children, just not the adults.

-Can someone tell me their number of children so I can make sure I am accurate? I will bring extra just in case- just wanted to make sure. Thanks!
