I have used walkie talkies on Cast-away-Cay before but I have not had good luck on the ship. We tested them a few years ago... maybe we should test them again. We have motorola radios. What kind of radio do you have that work?

I looked and ours and not sure who it is made by? They are Mickey shaped ones.LOL So they say Disney on them and that is all. We have used them 5 times on the the Disney Wonder and Magic and they have always worked well for us. They are able to change frequency due to we have heard others talking using theirs. So for sure buy ones that are able to change frequency and look for distance, I can't recall what the paper work said but ours are a long distance kind so we can use them all over the ship. And that may be why some others don't work as well if they are not made for long distances.

Wow, everyone must be busy packing and such because I found our thread clear on page 3!! Hope everyone is still hanging in there and having a good weekend!

I could be wrong, but I think that the FE list has been closed awhile ago to give people a final count to get their gifts ready. I am not totally sure because I am not participating in the FE exchange this cruise. I joined onto this cruise right around the time that they were about to close the deadline.

Most times with the FE list, the whole purpose is to participate in a gift exchange. Kind of like a gift swap...you sign up to give to the staterooms on the list, and then they in turn give back to you.
I hope that I explained that right!

I can't wait! I'm sure everyone is starting to get things together. Today we had snow, but no accumulation. YUCK! We got a babysitter for the day today. Grabbed lunch with another couple, checked out a huge craft fair and then got almost all of our shopping done for the cruise!!! We just need a couple other things that we're ordering online. To finish off the evening we grabbed dinner just the 2 of us! Great way to prepare for the cruise

Spoonfulosugar- we didn't book any excursions. If they're all full you are more than welcome to just walk around with us. I'd definitely check once you get on the ship.

Not too upset anyone...but that is not the way it works. It is an exchange of sorts...not a "hey give me stuff" thing. Everyone who participates brings and delivers gifts to each other. Not just receive gifts.

My DD and I are finishing up our gift bags...she is so excited!

Arch enemy those flat landers The Bears! Now that we live in Green Bay for the 3 years, I find new rival in the Vikings 10x stronger now with Brett! Green Bay has a real Love-Hate thing going on with Brett. Don't get me started on Him!

Today I've dressed up in one of several of my Green and Gold outfits. (Green Bay is aware of one other color Breast cancer Pink with Packer Logo. They wear Packer clothing All year long. Yellow & Green Bikini's or Green & Yellow Swim trunks are sold at the Packer stores, sadly/fortunately not in my size.)
Look for us in the stands. I own season tickets. 45 yard line row 60. I purchased the chance to be a season ticket holder before we married. A one time fee of $600 each seat for the right to pay $1000 each year for tickets. I got on the waiting list when I was a teenager. Then after almost 7 years my chance for tickets came with the new stadium. I'm unsure if I'll watch the game on Sunday. I would have if it was on Thursday. I'll bet we'll have so much to do our very first full day on a cruise.

You guys are so funny! I will need to pass this along to my hubby, I know he will like nowing the line up of games for the week. Plus a good friend of ours son-in- law now plays for the Broncos

I will be glad to be on the list but I don't think I want to participate this time. What kind of walkie talkies? Brand? Do they really work?

Motorola works well and I believe that is who makes the Mickey Shaped ones.

Uniden with the subchannels work way better then the ones with non-sub channels..we had friends that used those

We have Cobra radios with the sub channels. We have great success with them on the ship. And we also use them on the islands. One time we were able to use them on deck 9 and one person who had them on shore on the Grand Cayman was able to hear and talk back.

The key is a sub channel

Check when you get on the ship...sometimes there care cancellations. My friend was able to get a beach one that way one time.

For anyone that does not know about this box,... U may send to the ship a box that could weigh upto 20lbs and is about the size of a file box.

I have a few questions.
Has anyone heard people talk about these boxes on ship?
Were the boxes there when they got on ship?
Were they in tact? (Dented, banged up, things broken inside)
Anyone send too heavy a box?
Anyone not get their box?

I was on a cruise when someone did not get their box at all. Someone else got it last minute, but it made it there. I have never known anyone to say stuff was broken up.

I do know someone else that had it sent to the hotel they were staying at.

Amc3007 last posted on 10/14 and has room number 2145 and did ask to be on FE list but no activity since 10/14

Princess Kristen last posted on 11/5 and has room number 6042. I think they are planning on the FE exchange since she sent me a PM message.

I am making FE gifts for the first two rooms above since I plan to mail all of the Fish Extenders on Wednesday to Melody in Florida to add to her FE gifts.

What about the Dunleavys are they still part of the FE exchange? On a post I thought she said she emailed a cabin number? I don't want to forget anyone...


I need to double check the things above... just be sure they are right.
