Yo Ho! Yo Ho! It's to the Eastern Caribbean for Thanksgiving we GO!!!!

Are you sailing on November 20, 2010? If so, please come join in and let's get to know our fellow cruisers!

If you're on this sailing please feel free to send me a PM with your information so I can maintain a list for Fish Extender activities and for our Cruise Website.

Cruisers:
HerrQSmee
Charlie
Suzanne
Margaret (who will be 14- will turn 15 during cruise)
Elizabeth (who will be 12)

Hi!

We will be sailing with you! Our daughter Katie will turn 15 on November 21st! When is your daughter's BD? We'll also be sailing with our youngest who will be 4.

I think friends are coming with us. My good friend Julie and her mom will hopefully be going on Julie's 2nd cruise.

Suz (me)
Jeff (dh)
Katie (13 now will turn 15)
Bobbie (4)

Our daughter, Margaret, will turn 15th on the 22nd! :goodvibes She is all excited- maybe they can hang out together sometime during the cruise! So glad you joined the thread. I was starting to think we were going on this cruise by ourselves!:cool1:

We'll be there! We booked while on the Turkey Day cruise last year. It'll be me, DH, DD11, and DD4 (at cruise time). My dad and his wife will also be joining us. As well as another family we like to travel with. So, 10 of us in all.

Just got back from our 10th Disney Cruise (been cruising since 2002) Sept 5 - 12 on the Magic. It was awesome:cheer2: and I'm already counting down but it's a long wait. :rotfl2: Enjoyed doing the fish extender for 22 cabins. Looking forward to getting to know you all. We're the friends of Mean Queen, btw.
I'm Debbie (44) Worships the Mouse
DH Tony (46) Does not believe in the magic but believes in cruising, thank god
DS Zachary (13) Ditto
DD Shelby (11) Loves the Mouse and anything Disney

Welcome everyone! Mean Queen- we cruised with you on the '08 Turkey cruise. We didn't get to meet but looking forward to cruising with you and your friends! I just love the Thanksgiving cruise. We had originally planned to do a summer cruise but had too many conflicts. We just got back from the "happiest place on earth"- Disneyland! Our girls had a long weekend so we jumped at the chance to walk in Walt's shoes!:cool1:

I thought your name looked familiar. Clubfig4 was there too, just not posting at the time. We're heading to the other happiest place on earth this weekend, WDW. It's the Food and Wine Fest, one of our favorite times.

Have a great time this weekend. The Food and Wine Fest sounds like a lot of fun- maybe someday we will get to attend. Our girls keep us so busy during this time of year. We were so thrilled to find out that they had a long weekend so close to school starting. The problem of living in the middle of the US is you have to travel to both coasts to get some Mickey time in!

As I'm starting to plan for Thanksgiving this year, I just keep thinking how much easier it was last year and how much I'm looking forward to next year. If only I could justify a Thanksgiving cruise every year!

The conversations about who is doing what on Thanksgiving have already started around here. It seems everyone has chosen my parents as their Thanksgiving destination. The question is where to put everyone and who is cooking the meal! Where is Governor Bradford's Turkey when you need it! :confused3
It was so nice last year to do our own thing... However, our schedule is so busy this month that I am not sure how I found the time to get ready for the trip last year.

Yay, thanks for starting this thread. We booked almost a year ago and I too wondered about the popularity of this cruise as it was one of the few without a thread. Of course, I never got around to starting it myself.

We are so excited for this cruise. DH and I have been on one cruise (Celebrity Alaska Aug 08), but this will be the first time cruising with the kids. They are so excited that they have the whole DVD memorized and can tell you the name of every resturant etc on the ship.

Glad to see that there are some turkey veterans on this cruise. What is the holiday like on the ship? Is a traditional meal served? This will be our first time away for a holiday. I love Thanksgiving and I love to cook, but I am REALLY looking forward to having a year off. I wish we were going this year.

Our kids will be 7.5 (DS) and just turned 6 (DD). They and we are all total disney fanatics and DD is still in huge princess mode.

We can't wait.

Hilary

Welcome Hilary and family!

This cruise is actually very popular, but I'm guessing the others are going this year and not ready to plan for 2010. A lot of our group last year were repeat Turkey Day cruisers. One day, I hope to do the same. :thumbsup2

They do offer a traditional Thanksgiving meal. But I went with a double order of the lobster since Thursday is usually lobster night. Mickey and Minnie do pictures in Pilgrim garb that night too. Very cute! The boat was decorated for Christmas which was so nice to see. The destinations are different for our cruise, so I'm really excited to see some new places.

Welcome Hilarys!
We were surprised that no thread was started and we just couldn't wait to start planning. I am slowly putting together a website with all the information and can pm you the website link. This will be our 3rd Thanksgiving cruise. The first one was just a 4 day on the Wonder. We just love cruising during this time. Like MeanQueen said, the ship is completely decorated for Christmas so it really gets you in to the holiday mood. I love watching them make the gingerbread house during the cruise. Your kids will love all the activities and there are lots of princess moments! Thanksgiving is a day at sea and is very relaxing. They show the football games on the big screen, serve a football buffet by the pool, and have lots of fun family activities to do. The food is great- there is a choice of turkey with all the fixings, lobster, and ham. Last year, they offered roasted cod and venison.

We have a cruise booked for Jan 2010 and I'm calling tomorrow to switch it to Thanksgiving 2011. Don't know if we'll keep it, but hopefully we will and be among the repeat turkey cruisers.

We became acquainted with some fellow cruisers on our March 2007 spring break cruise. They are also planning to cruise TG 2010. I'm sure she'll join the thread eventually. It's still such a long way out.

Herr...how fun that our daughters are almost exactly the same age. Our friends also have a daughter the same age and she's an absolute gem! It's so much fun to celebrate a BD onboard! Although for the life of me I can't understand why they bring you a BD dessert. What's up with that and who even has room for it?

So excited that others have joined our group.

Only 400 more days to the cruise!!!!:cool1::banana:

As far as the birthday cake goes, I agree with you Suz D! It is a nice thought but maybe just put the fantastic chocolate greeting on a dessert you order. My oldest is getting spoiled - this will be her 3rd time to celebrate her birthday onboard. Her sister isn't too happy with all that! I always have a fun time decorating the stateroom and trying to get something Disney for her to open on her day! Last year, it was mickey mouse rhinestone earrings. I am going to have to be creative for her 15th!

Hey we made it to the 2nd page! Yea us!:yay:

We're just getting down right chatty! ;) I'm trying to convince my grandparents to come along, but they are dragging their feet. I keep explaining prices will only go up, not down on a holiday cruise. It'll be my grandfathers 83rd? birthday (I think) that Thanksgiving, so it'd be a great way to celebrate.

I think this is a great idea! Add a candle and voila, instant BD dessert. I think you need to email the suggestion to DCL.

Although it's still so far out, I'm constantly thinking of how much fun it will be.

I lost my ticker! I am going to have to go find it! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Fall and sunshine came to my part of Texas! Until Friday, we had only 2 days of no rain in the area! Thought I was going to turn in to a duck! :confused3
