Traveling from a cold climate (Airport)

Going from Boston to Orlando two years during March we worn jeans/sweatpants with short-sleeve t's and sweatshirt/hoodie. We do wear heavier coats/hats/etc (also learned a hard lesson having to dig the car out at Providence one time) but our tactic is to shed those heavy layers and lay them in the top of the suitcases before checking them. Same coming back, once we pick up the suitcases from baggage claim we open them up and pull on the coats. Kinda wimpy, I know, but even 5 years in Boston hasn't thickened up my native VA blood enough!
