This will be my first time staying overnight in Anaheim, though I've been to DL 75 times.

I've seen rates from $60-150. Are those rates for the room or per person("Based on double occupancy")?

What's the least expensive way to go, hotel-wise, for one person?

Any other tips for my situation?

This is for the room. Hotel staying depends on if you have a car or would depend on public transportation, walking, etc. Check out Expedia. I stayed at the Fairfield a/c from Disneyland for $70. There is a great restaraunt "millies" in the parking lot that has great/ inexpensive food. I grew up near there and you do have to be careful. The farther away from the park the dirtier it gets. Comfort Suites is inexpensive basic type of room with breakfast and for about $4 you can get a bus pass that takes you to the park.

Just returned from a stay at DLR. Pricelined a 3.5 star room for $45 a night. I chose to only be in the Resort area. I stayed at the Hilton Suites. They are across the street from Anaheim Stadium on State College. The Area Resort Transit (ART) stops at this hotel and runs every 30 minutes I believe (though I had a car and didn't use it). I have used the ART before and never had a problem. When pricelining Anaheim, stick with the Disney Resort Area and any 3.5 star room when bidding. It will keep you in the ART transit area, which is especially helpful if you don't have a car. The last time I pricelined Disney Resort I got the Anaheim Hilton (across the street from Disneyland) for $50 per night (and that was during a convention). If you have the Entertainment card you can get the Howard Johnson's motel for around 50 to 70 a night (if you prefer to choose where you are staying).

I spent most of my life only 20 minutes from Disneyland so I know the area well and feel comfortable with doing priceline bidding. That being said I never lower my standards past a 3.5 star, if my bid is not accepted the first time I just up the dollars I am willing to spend.

Also keep in mind that many of the Anaheim area hotels now charge for parking. Usually around 11 per night. I figure that into my "bid" so that I know approximately how much my stay will cost me. If you get lucky and get a property that does not charge for parking then you get to put that "money" back in your pocket.

So for an example:

My bid was $45 but I know that I could pay for parking of 11 when there so when doing pen and paper calculations I figure my room night cost to be 56 per night. Priceline charges the room tax automatically so that is charged on my bid amount of $45. My room night costs are $45 plus tax per night plus I will have to pay the resort 11 if they charge for parking. This is how I work my budget.

I don't have a car. I've decided I want to be able to easily walk to DL and not rely on a bus's schedule.
The hotels right across from the entrance were 70% more than Anaheim Plaza. So I guess that's the one for me.

Rental car always works for this
